Ayo Edebiri Wore Willy Chavarria To ‘The Whoopi Monologues’ Opening Night

Ayo Edebiri, who is currently starring on Broadway in Proof, was among those supporting Kerry Washington at the opening night of The Whoopi Monologues in New York City on Monday.

The actress wore a recently presented look from the Willy Chavarria Spring 2027 collection that felt perfectly aligned with her distinctive style, as relaxed proportions suit her so well.

I’m glad she left the aqua blue shirt from the runway behind. It worked within the context of the show, but who needs the extra layer in this heat? The edit allowed the tailoring to breathe and felt much more authentic to Ayo’s style.

The strappy sandals were the perfect finishing touch, keeping the look light and ideal for a summer evening in the city. It was another example of how a simple runway edit can make a look feel more natural and ultimately more wearable.
