Taylor Russell Wore Schiaparelli To The ‘Hope’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Taylor Russell attended the Hope photocall during the Cannes Film Festival this afternoon wearing Schiaparelli Fall 2026.

Many of you weren’t sold on her Dior Haute Couture look for the premiere, and I have a feeling that you will be even less enthused about this spiral-cut black laminated treebark pleated satin dress.

Is the dress too big for her? Yes.

But considering she is playing an extraterrestrial being in this film, where she reportedly underwent hours of prosthetic work to transform into character, I can at least follow the thought process behind this more alien, sculptural direction.

Some will say that shouldn’t be a get-out-of-fashion-jail-free card, and I hear you, but I’m still here for the mood, the attitude and the fact that Taylor is never interested in giving us the obvious option on the Cannes red carpet.

Do the sleeves look slightly absurd? Absolutely. But after seeing the runway version, where the sleeves were designed with hidden hand slits, it’s clear this exaggerated shape was entirely purposeful rather than a styling mishap.
