Beyonce’s Crystal Skeletal Olivier Rousteing Look At The 2026 Met Gala

Beyonce arrived late to the 2026 Met Gala, missing the usual co-chair group moment. Given her recent reluctance toward traditional red carpet arrivals, I am surprised she walked the red carpet at all. I was expecting to see her post her outfit on Instagram.

Wearing custom Olivier Rousteing, a long-time collaborator, she leaned fully into the “Costume Art” theme. The flesh-toned sheer base was overlaid with crystal embellishment mapped to resemble a skeletal structure, extending across the body and down to the gloves. It created a striking illusion, turning the body into a framework for the design.

The most dramatic element came from behind. A sweeping, feathered train extended across the carpet, explaining her delayed arrival, as it required space to be seen properly. It added scale and presence, shifting the look from intricate to expansive.

A celestial, crown-like headpiece – which recalls her 2017 Grammys moment – completed the look, alongside Chopard jewellery, reinforcing the high-gloss finish of the ensemble.

There’s no denying the craftsmanship or the clear connection to the theme. The concept is direct, the execution detailed. But for me, this is an ugly dress and unflattering in places, despite the precision behind it.
