Alex Consani Wore Chanel To The Times Square Arts Midnight Moment
The Times Square Arts Midnight Moment is a public art programme, and one of the most interesting things happening in New York right now.

Every night at 11:57pm, the advertising screens across Times Square switch over in sync and, for three minutes, display a single artist’s work instead of ads.

On Friday, Alex Consani featured in Tomokazu Matsuyama’s Midnight Moment installation, appearing as part of the artist’s large-scale digital work. She was also there to witness it in person, which made the moment feel more personal.

For that moment, she wore a sequin-embellished “I ❤️ NY” T-shirt from the Chanel Pre-Fall 2026 collection. In this context, the choice feels especially on point. The slogan is one of the most recognisable visual markers of the city, and placing it in Times Square creates a clear, direct connection between the look and its location, where versions of this T-shirt are sold by local vendors, just without the Chanel label.

She opted not to replicate the full runway look, skipping the jacket and original skirt. Instead, she chose a red, white and black graphic embellished fringed skirt, which works better with the T-shirt, both in terms of colour balance and visual cohesion. The graphic print also ties into the artistic context of the event, aligning with the idea of fashion as part of a wider visual narrative.

Simple black pumps and a Chanel bag completed the look.
