Anya Taylor-Joy Wore August Barron To ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Osaka Photocall
With awards season in the rearview mirror, the focus now shifts to press tours, with Anya Taylor-Joy currently in Osaka, Japan promoting The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Leaning into her role as Princess Peach, she opted for an August Barron Apron mini dress from the Spring 2026 collection (which reads nothing like the Miu Miu Spring 2026 apron dresses), and this is exactly the kind of direction I expected from her during this tour.
The rose-and-green floral print, pieced together from repurposed textiles, gives the dress a light, airy, summery feel, but it’s the shape that really does the work. The halter neckline frames her shoulders beautifully, while the flared mini skirt creates that playful, almost doll-like silhouette that instantly reads as Princess Peach without feeling too literal. It’s sweet, but not overly saccharine.
This is where the look really lands for me. It taps into the essence of Princess Peach – soft and feminine – without f. It feels like a fashion nod to the character, which is exactly what a press tour should tap into, especially at this time of year.
The Giuseppe Zanotti Intrigo strap sandals in pink tie the whole look together, echoing the palette and keeping everything cohesive.
