Catherine, Princess of Wales Wore Tolu Coker For The Nigerian President’s State Visit
Prince William, Prince of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended the Ceremonial Welcome at Windsor Castle for President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, marking the first Nigerian state visit in 37 years, and the first held at the castle.

We know Catherine will always give a nod to the moment and she rarely misses when it comes to dressing for the occasion. What instantly comes to mind is the Prabal Gurung dress she wore to the state dinner at the Istana Presidential Palace in Singapore, where the designer’s heritage aligned with the host country.
For this occasion, she wore a coat dress by British-Nigerian designer Tolu Coker, a choice which made perfect sense for the moment.

The tailored grey coat dress from the designer’s Fall 2024 collection, shortened from the runway, was a smart choice. It sits comfortably within Catherine’s established wardrobe, sharp tailoring, clean lines, and a refined finish, so there’s no disruption to her usual formula. At the same time, it acknowledges Nigerian design in a way that feels fitting for the visit.

The corseted detailing at the back is particularly intriguing, as it’s not something we’ve seen from the Princess before, while also helping to define the waist.
The look was styled with a matching Jane Taylor Millinery hat, grey BOSS pumps, and a Mulberry Amberley bag, keeping the palette consistent and the overall look cohesive.
What makes this choice even more interesting is that King Charles attended Tolu Coker’s Fall 2026 show during London Fashion Week.
