Michelle Williams Wore Dima Ayad To The ‘Hamilton’ New York Premiere

Michelle Williams has always been a “less is more” dresser, which is why this polka dot Dima Ayad off-the-shoulder maxi dress worn to the Hamilton New York premiere last night stopped me in my tracks.

I actually love that she went there. Sequins, polka dots, off-the-shoulder—all of it feels bolder than what we’ve come to expect from her. It’s refreshing to see her push outside her usual lane.

But here’s the thing; the fit gave her arms the tiniest T. Rex range of motion. Restrictive to the point where I couldn’t stop thinking, “How does she even hug someone in this?” Maybe I’m being too practical about it, but once I noticed, I couldn’t unsee it.

Still, I admire the effort. It feels like she’s trying to shake things up, and I’m always here for Michelle experimenting.
