Doja Cat Wore Brett Nelson To Outside Lands Music Festival 2025
At Outside Lands 2025, Doja Cat proved once again that her performances are as much a visual spectacle as they are a musical one. Alongside crowd-pleasing hits, she gave fans a taste of her upcoming album Vie with the debut of Jealous Type, setting the tone for a new era deeply rooted in ’80s culture—not through a carbon-copy throwback, but as a nostalgic and emotional homage.

This time, the homage was worn loud and proud: a zebra-print, shoulder-padded bustier with matching V-waist leggings, punctuated by a white studded belt. The look came courtesy of her stylist Brett Nelson, working with Ashton Michael, Zana Bayne, and Muto-Little to create something that felt unapologetically big, bold, and era-specific.
Topping it all off, her voluminous platinum hair, hot-pink blush, and red lips amped the ’80s mood into overdrive—a combination that could have strutted straight out of Jem and the Holograms.
Sure, some might call it costumey, but Doja’s leaning into character here, introducing the visual world of Vie. If this set is anything to go by, we’re in for a run of unapologetic ’80s-inspired looks. With Keke Palmer and Lindsay Lohan also revisiting nostalgic style moments this year, it seems the past has never felt so now.
