Jennifer Lopez Wore Saiid Kobeisy To The ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ Opening Night

Jennifer Lopez was serving World Premiere meets European Film Festival meets Met Gala energy at the Good Night, And Good Luck Broadway opening night at the Winter Garden Theatre on Thursday in New York City—and honestly, do we expect anything less?

Clad in a Saiid Kobeisy Fall 2024 black velvet fitted dress and a show-stopping ivory taffeta cape that seemed to float in with its own gravitational pull, J.Lo was a red carpet hurricane of glamour. Some may say she was overdressed. To those people, I ask: have you met Jennifer Lopez?

The words “overdressed” and “Jennifer Lopez” should never occupy the same sentence. This is the woman who practically invented the concept of entrance-making. This Is Her…Now, Forever, And Always. She doesn’t dabble in subtlety, and she’s certainly not taking cues from Team Minimalism. And thank goodness for that.

Now, let’s talk about that cape—it’s bringing Broadway-level drama, and I am so here for it. Without it, the dress alone would’ve been a “meh” moment, but with that voluminous flourish? Pure diva magic.

My only gripe—and it’s a big one—is the hair. Why, oh why, was it not swept up? That cape deserved a clean neckline moment (and the hair needs some deep conditioning). Still, even when J.Lo misses a beat, she’s performing in a completely different key from everyone else.
