Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu Wore Balenciaga To The ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 4 Part 2 Rome Premiere

Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu Wore Balenciaga To The ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 4 Part 2 Rome Premiere

Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, a French actress known for her chic, fashion-forward style, has consistently championed Parisian labels, and for the ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 4 Part 2 Rome premiere, she stayed true to form.

However, her Balenciaga black velvet strapless gown, featuring a Dracula-inspired satin purple-lined train, left much to be desired—especially considering her usual standards.

Following her stunning Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown at the LA premiere last month, this look felt like a step back. The Balenciaga gown, while certainly dramatic, lacked the flair we’ve come to expect from her.

The heavy velvet and overly theatrical train came off as uninspiring, especially when compared to the refined yet daring pieces she has worn in the past. Given her usual ability to blend sophistication with edge, this was disappointing.

What further detracted from the overall look was the addition of the Balenciaga Shoe Knife clutch, which introduced an element of kitsch that didn’t land. While Balenciaga is known for pushing boundaries with its often-avant-garde accessories, the clutch felt out of place, adding a cheesy element. It’s rare for Philippine to make such a misstep, but this combination simply didn’t work.

We’ve seen her excel at blending classic French chic with modern drama. Unfortunately, this Balenciaga gown didn’t meet those expectations.
