The actress opted to serve up a utilitarian feel with Simkhai’s New York edge wearing an Elettra twill belted utility bustier with Lionelle twill utility cargo pants from the designers Pre-Fall 2023 collection.
Very much a product of the Noughties, Simkhai leans into the revival of the beloved cargo trousers with a strapless top that injects an ultra-feminine feel.
While most won’t consider the pants – which were designed to provide utility and convenience – with the large pockets on the sides of the thighs feminine, designers never back down from a challenge, and in recent years, reinventions of the classic cargo have seen transformations to more chicer alternatives.
This look is also available in a dark denim top and pants, so I’m glad that Hailee opted for this breathable twill version which was the perfect way to manage a New York City heatwave.
