Misia performed the Japanese national anthem ‘Kimigayo’ as a Japanese national flag was being raised during the Opening Ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games at Olympic Stadium on Thursday (July 23) in Tokyo, Japan.

As an avid viewer of the Olympics, it’s really sad that the event will be without spectators in the stadiums, so Misia’s impressive performance was key to setting an uplifting feeling for the event.

The singer blew me away wearing a dress which should be somewhat familiar to you all, on account of the organza fabric, colours and volume which are the signature of the talented emerging designer; Tomo Koizumi.

Cotton-candy, snow cone, whatever you want to call this.  It was a beautiful moment celebrating music, fashion, and culture.

An iconic moment in fashion for the world to see.
