Black appeared to be the colour of the night on day five of Cannes Film Festival, as this red carpet roundup from the ‘De Son Vivant (Peaceful)’ premiere on Saturday (July 10) in France features six of them.
Starting with Paz Vega.
The Spanish actress was positively purring walking the red carpet in her second look from Nicolas Jebran.
Even though more skin is exposed on one side, I’m buying the whole package, excluding the Jimmy Choo shoes, which are a couple of sizes too big for her.
A Messika earring completed her look.
Much like Paz Vega, there are no bad sides to Taylor Hill’s Etro lace dress. The party was both at the front and the back.
I don’t think this dark dress / dark lip trend at Cannes is going to land for me.
I wasn’t a fan of this look on Jessica Chastain, and I’m not crazy about it here on Anja Rubik, despite her stunning feather-festooned Saint Laurent gown styled with Boucheron jewels.
With her own fashion line and a following of over 1 million on Instagram, model-actress Jeanne Damas knows a thing or two about fashion.
She represents the ultimate in French girl chic wearing a simple black Christian Dior Fall 2021 maxi dress.
The bag wouldn’t have been my first choice with a dress like this, but she – in signature fashion – makes it work.
Carla Bruni was back on the red carpet smouldering wearing a Saint Laurent column dress styled with Chopard jewels in il Tricolore (green, white and red 🇮🇹 ) celebrating her part Italian heritage ahead of the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy this evening.
I can’t say I love this Dior gown on Isabelle Adjani. The nude lining, sheer black overlay and trims aren’t working in unison here. I wish this was a lot more seamless.
Vanessa Paradis didn’t get the all black memo, as she was pretty in pink Chanel.
Her custom look was insipired by from the Spring 2021 collection.
It’s a shame that her black pumps (literally) stick out like a sore thumb.
Cécile De France provided a bit of light wearing this custom Alberta Ferretti white silk chiffon halter gown.
I want to take the whole bodice and lift it up about an inch or two.
