Kerry Washington For Town & Country September 2020
Kerry Washington graces the September 2020 issue of Town & Country, which she shared to her Instagram captioning the post, “We’ve all had to adjust to what “normal” looks like in times of Covid. This was definitely NOT a normal photoshoot. It was a socially distanced, labor of LOVE.
@luxurylaw pre-curated the fashion brilliance (like this gorgeous @cushnie gown) 3 days before and had everything pressed and ready to go for me to look fabulous.
Somehow @takishahair and @carolagmakeup were able to work their ✨magic ✨ through Facetime and had me feeling beautiful and confident from 3,000 miles away.
This cover brings me so much joy, because I know all that went into it, and I feel so blessed to work with such a badass and dedicated team. ❤️??”
Kerry has had many breath-taking moments in cover shoots and red carpets, and this ranks highly among them.
I just adore the way the Cushnie one-shoulder lavender gown from the Fall 2020 collection drapes so fluidly. The look feels so simple, yet it’s so impactful.
This might be in part down to the full fabulous Afro, but I would give most of the credit to the colour of the dress here. It looks so luscious against her skin.
Some might feel that the makeup could’ve had a tinge more colour – this was my first reaction – but on reflection, I love the more natural look.
At times cover stars can be made up beyond recogniton, but I feel like Kerry is her authentic self here.
The last time Kerry opted for a look sans blouse/bra at the 2020 Golden Globes in Altuzarra, you didn’t like it – AT ALL; but I have a feeling this Chanel Fall 2020 skort suit will have a better reception.
The scalloped details and delicate embroidery amp up the feminine vibes.
The final look is from Christopher John Rogers’ Fall 2020 collection.
This sleek design will hopefully get a red carpet moment, but that doesn’t stop me from drooling over bedazzlement in this moment.
I’ve spent so much time drooling over Kerry’s editorial, that I should note that this cover supports her latest project – as executive producer – for ‘The Fight,’ a documentary about American Civil Liberties Union lawyers during the Trump administration.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, before the Covid-19 pandemic forced closures of movie theaters.
It is now available on streaming platforms including Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Google Play, as well as on YouTube and on-demand.
