Summer Trend Spotting: Heeled Flip Flops

There once was a time when flip flops were confined to the beach, park or shopping centres, now they are popping up on the red carpet.

Some consider flip flops a crime against fashion as they make your feet dirty, and the make an annoying clappy clap sound when you walk in them, so it’s rather baffling that someone decided to add a heel to them, and make them this summer hottest fashion item.

First spotted on the feet of several street style stars during Copenhagen Fashion Week, the trend has been embraced by several brands from Yeezy to Instagrammable Staud.

So with the retro design having some pretty powerful sartorial backers, does this rubber soled shoe deserved a place in our wardrobe?
