‘Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama’ In London

'Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama' In London in Stella McCartney

For my pre-birthday gift, my sister got us tickets to go and see Michelle Obama who was in London for her ‘Becoming: An Intimate Conversation With Michelle Obama’ book tour, that was held at The O2 Arena on Sunday (April 14), and hosted by Stephen Colbert.

She is just a beautiful, and engaging as you would imagine.  I was literally at the end of my seat hanging off her every word.

The former first lady talked passionately about the future of not just America, but also the world.  Which is why she so active in promoting education for young people, especially girls.

She would never mention Donald Trump by name.  Repeatedly referring to him as only ‘the current occupant of the White House’.

My personal highlight was when talked about her first meeting with Barack Obama, who was late.  She went into detail about how he eventually won her over with the charm that also wooed us all.

I was swooning over her mint green nails, which popped against her custom Stella McCartney jumpsuit.

I adore the embellishments and sensual off-the-shoulder.

My feeling is that the look appears a bit baggy from the hips to upper thigh, but perhaps it was designed loose deliberately.

Gold earrings added to the sparkle, along with glossy lips.

Now, I’m going to have to speed read her book.  What a truly inspiring woman.

I love the outfit – she looks regal and elegant! It has thus far taken me about 6 weeks to read three quarters of Becoming (literally managing 3-4 pages a night because I have a 4 month old who could wake at any minute!) I am finding it equal parts inspiring and saddening – the former because of all that Michelle achieved and saddening because of how much the opportunity is wasted on Melania. I hope you enjoy the book Catherine!

This is such a beautiful and true statement. I don’t think Melania understands her position at all. She’s counting down the days until she can return to her old life. Totally wasted as you say

I love this outfit. That neck-line is gorgeous. She looks great (which is nice because she made some questionable choices on some of the tour dates).

I agree that the length of the nails is… unfortunate. I am on a personal crusade against fake and/or too long nails 🙂

I love this on her. The neckline is especially flattering. I am so inspired by Michelle Obama. Please read her book it is fantastic and so well written – I actually listened to it on Audible and she is the reader. So now that she read a book to me, I feel like we are practically best friends.

You’ve got a great sister! Now you know why we were so disappointed when she refused to run for President. I haven’t seen her, but I listened to the audible book read by her – wonderful. I love this look, except for the nails. I have never liked the rainbow colors of nails, and these are definitely too long anyway. But isn’t it good to see her again?

Nice outfit. I like their color but her nails are way too long. I’m seeing her tomorrow in Paris. I can’t wait 🙂

I love this outfit and she looks great — one of the better looks on this book tour. The only thing I do not like is the long pointy nails (like the color thought). I do not expect that look from the former FLOTUS. Cardi B, Rihanna, or Adele with nails like that would be okay but for Michelle Obama that is a no from me.

The outfit is nice but the finger fangs have to go.

The outfit is okay, the nails are all wrong.

I wish this were in a dark green or dark blue but she looks great as per.

No problem with the look except the blue porn star fake nails.

Ha… I love a strong nail polish. As you my have seen in my instagram stories. Never heard them referred to as porn star nails though lol

I don’t like it on prominent women older than 30.

I’ve been waiting for this post! I was there too and the jumpsuit looked amazing…shimmering gently as she spoke. What an inspiring person she is! I loved it when she did her impression of Barack’ s honeyed voice. Hilarious.
