Constance Wu In Ralph & Russo Couture – ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ LA Premiere

Constance Wu In Ralph & Russo Couture - ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ LA Premiere

Constance Wu joined Michelle Yeoh on the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ on Tuesday (August 7) in Hollywood, California.

The actress, who plays Rachel Chu in the movie, wore a silver illusion tulle off-the-shoulder dress featuring a geometric sequin-encrusted design, Swarovski crystal embellishment and off-white silk fringed tassels from Ralph & Russo’s Spring 2018 Couture collection.

I was immediately in awe of this stunning creation, as it’s befitting of a lead actress but breath-taking in its design.

Some may wish that this was saved for a taller actress, or modified to be shorter in length, but I think Constance looks absolutely radiant; applying just the right amount of Lorraine Schwartz jewels to the look.

Why would you have ropes when you can have a proper cape?

She looks pretty for sure but this would e better if tailored. And I’m no a fan of the string sleeves

I wish it had been hemmed because the rest was working so well on her.

BDOTW for me. let short actresses wear beautiful dresses! dam! she looks incredible

What a gorgeous gown, but yeah, she lacks height or modifications were needed.

I love this on her so I’m willing to overlook the hem. Overall, this was a very glamorous red carpet. I’ve been missing that for the last few weeks.

She carries off the the top half very well but the pooling of the hem just kind of lets it all down. I love the makeup.

She looks lovely – especially in the shots from the bodice up. But agree that the effect is ruined in the full-length pictures because this dress needed someone with more height.

I do think it needed to be saved for someone taller sadly. It doesn’t fit her right.
I love the dress on the runway. its amazing. But its only ok on her cause of the fit.

    Gorgeous.

Perfection from head to toe. BDOTW contender.

It’s a great dress but not for her. The sleekness of it is lost on her because of the fit.

Gorgeous dress but it’s not right for her. She’s not tall enough and the bodice is too high.

This looks like a dress that can’t be modified in length when considering the pailettes, and the pooling doesn’t overly bother me. I pause to wonder whether the bodice would have been less gaping on a different body type though, because while I get that the moulded shape is part of the style, I don’t know if could have been worn better by someone else.

Regardless, I like the dress, and it’s a cool one to go for, though I think the very flat hair and heavy make-up feels perhaps unduly aging.

6/10, let’s say – keeps you interested but in parts lacking.
