Laura Carmichael In James Galanos – 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Laura Carmichael In James Galanos - 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Laura Carmichael attended the 2015 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 11).

The ‘Downton Abbey’ star was the epitome of effortless glamour in a vintage James Galanos one-shoulder black gown, embellished with a singular star-shaped detail.

She styled the look with a vintage Swarovski mini clutch and equally non-intrusive Chopard jewels, alongside a sultry smokey eye.

While it was one of the quieter looks on the red carpet, the chic minimal gown really proved quite powerful.

The starfish detail keeps distracting me. Without it, it might have passed as “simple elegance” (rather than boring). With it, I get the impression it was supposed to hype something up that is indeed: boring.

    Dull.

She looks beautiful – makeup is flawless – but I’m not feeling the giant starfish adhered to her thigh.

James Galanos is an AMAZING vintage designer and THIS is the best Laura’s stylist can do for her???

Michelle Dockery’s career has been helped by fashion, there is no denying the effect it can have. Imagine if Laura actually cared.

    She looks beautiful, but forgettable.

Hair and makeup are gorgeous, but I agree. The dress doesn’t convey much to me. Not sure I care for how it drapes across the neck.
