Red Carpet Fashion Awards

January Jones showed off her unique style at the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood last night.

Not one to be afraid of a red carpet risk, January wore a bold Wes Gordon Fall 2012 look, which included a high-waist bronze velvet floor-length contoured trumpet skirt, teamed with a silk organza and georgette scarf top and thick leather waistband.

I have to say I prefer her re-working of the separates and that she made this look her own.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress styled her bob in soft waves, and wore a bright red lippie.

Like Elizabeth Banks, January took a risk. Do you think it paid off?

My jaw dropped when I saw Lily Collins at the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood last night.

Lily looked picturesque in a Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2012 nude and blue embroidered tulle ¾ sleeve ball gown.

Set to appear as Snow White in this year’s ‘Mirror, Mirror,’ Lily looked every bit the princess in this show-stopping gown.

The star-making dress was accessorized with Tiffany & Co jewelry and a tousled up-do.

Should she have saved this for the ‘Mirror, Mirror’ world premiere?

Jennifer Lopez attended the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood last night wearing her second Zuhair Murad look of the night.

Undeterred by her rumoured nipple slip while presenting earlier in the night, the ‘American Idol’ judge stepped into another plunging neckline.

The Zuhair Murad Fall 2011 Couture gown sparkles in a deep plum shade, slightly lightening in an ombre effect as it trails into a cranberry-hued skirt.

J.Lo accessorizes with H. Stern jewels and a Swarovski bag and kept her hair in a high-bun.

This is more like it. This is the diva I know and love.

On this occasion the omission of the belt doesn’t bring down the look as much as it did on Gwen Stefani.

It was hard to miss Claire Danes at the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party last night in West Hollywood.

It’s no surprise that she chose Valentino – one of the actress’ favourite designers – for the biggest night in Hollywood, but this bright pink colour is not something we’d expect from the actress who tends to favour minimalist looks.

Her Valentino Pre-Fall 2012 gown features sheer, polka-dotted overlay exploding into a tiered, riffled skirt.

This stand-out gown comes dangerously close to looking a bit Barbie princess, but I think the almost-neon pink is a brilliant choice and looks stunning on Claire.

Her styling is flawless, with a slightly messy hairstyle and light pink makeup.

The look is finished with Tiffany & Co. earrings and a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet.

Emma Stone appeared in her second stunning look of the night at the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscars Party, held in West Hollywood last evening.

I’m completely blown away by Emma in this Chanel Fall 2011 Couture dress.

The layered black chiffon dress flares out at the waist before becoming partially sheer, showing off flashes of leg.

Crystal brooches on each shoulder provide the only sparkle necessary.

I keep going back and forth as to whether I would have preferred to have seen this dress on the red carpet for the main event.

Which look was your favourite?

Giambattista Valli Couture or Chanel Couture?

Perhaps Maria Sharapova should stay off the red carpet and stick to the tennis courts.

The tennis pro attended the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood last night, mingling with Hollywood’s biggest stars.

It pains me to say this, but Maria was my least favourite of the night in Alexander McQueen.

This Spring 2012 short and frilly frock just looks misplaced on Maria’s muscular frame.

Someone much more petite and dainty is needed to pull off the micro-mini hemline and all that frou frou.

Alexander McQueen horn heel platforms, an Alexander McQueen bejeweled Swarovski crystal clutch with skull clasp accessorized her look, along with Dena Kemp earrings, a David Yurman square ring, and head piece by Jennifer Behr.

Would any of you give Maria a pass?
