Get The Look: Rosamund Pike’s ‘Hector and the Search for Happiness’ Premiere Makeup

"Hector And The Search For Happiness" Premiere - 2014 Toronto International Film FestivalCelebrity makeup artist Georgie Eisdell worked with Rosamund Pike to create her look for the premiere of ‘Hector and the Search for Happiness’ held during the 2014 Toronto Film Festival on Sunday.

Georgie said, “Rosamund is a breathtaking beauty so I simply wanted to enhance that, keeping her looking modern and cool.”

Here’s how to get the look.

She prepped Rosamund’s skin with La Mer Soft Cream and La Prairie Platinum Rare Eye Cream. Evening out her skin tone, she used Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick.

For that hint of colour on the cheeks, she then used Korres Cheek Butter in Philia Rose then powdered lightly with La Mer The Powder. She then went over her blush with Laura Mercier Powder Blush in Honey Lust.

Her brows were groomed and slightly enhanced with Laura Mercier Cream Brow Gel in Fair.

Rosamund’s eyes were smoky and soft. To create this, Georgie used Bobbi Brown Shadow in Cool Ivory all over the lid to create a flawless base. Then she used Bobbi Brown Shadows in Grey and Toast for that grey/taupe blend. She blended Rosamund’s eyeshadow from the lid up into the crease and then slightly above the crease, also bringing it under the eye to create the smoky effect. She applied two layers of YSL Faux Cils Mascara in Black to finish off the eyes.

The look was complete with Hourglass Femme Nude Lip in Number 4.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick look at the dapper gents attending New York and Toronto Film Festival premieres this week.

Douglas Booth: The handsome continues to prove why we often hand him a best dressed title each time he steps out on the red carpet. With navy being the colour of the moment in menswear, the actor sets his own pace opting for a green Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit styled with an Armani timepiece to the ‘Riot Club’ Toronto Film Festival premiere.

Rob Pattinson: The British actor was also staying true to his favourite brand: Gucci. I do love it when guys do something a bit different. Here Rob styles his navy notch-lapel two-button Marseille suit with a navy evening shirt and brown leather lace-ups while attending the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of ‘Maps Of The Stars’ on Tuesday (September 9). The colours couldn’t be more perfect as we slowly move towards autumn and the suit, as always, was a perfect fit. The usual dishevelment gave way to sleeker grooming, so this gets a thumbs up all round from me.

Calvin Klein Spring 2015 Front Row

Calvin Klein Spring 2015 Front Row

Francisco Costa presented his Spring 2015 Calvin Klein Collection on the runway at Spring Studios during New York Fashion Week on Thursday (September 11), with Sarah Jessica Parker and Rooney Mara – who is the face of the DOWNTOWN Calvin Klein fragrance – perched in the front row.

Sarah Jessica Parker: Just as temperatures were beginning to dip in New York, SJP turned up the heat in this breathtaking Calvin Klein Resort 2015 belted trench coat. Thoroughly contemporary in style, colour, exposed zipper detailing and fabrication, her look had me drooling on impact. The only thing which could’ve pulled down this look was a cross-body bag, so thankfully she opted for a black Calvin Klein clutch instead, with additional bracelets and black pumps completing her look. This is a BDOTW-worthy look for me, but I could be blinded by the fact that she’s wearing my favourite colour, so what do you think?

Rooney Mara: The actress merged her two favourite colours, black and white, for her FROW look. I love the cosy nature of her Fall 2014 knitted sleeveless frock accented with a free-flowing sheer skirt, but you won’t be surprised that the heavy boots don’t work for me. However, the styling is perfectly in tune with what we expect from the actress. Will you be giving the ankle boots a pass?

Astrid Berges-Frisbey In Chanel – Deauville American Film Festival

Astrid Berges-Frisbey In Chanel - Deauville American Film Festival

Astrid Berges-Frisbey has made several stylish appearances on the red carpet during Deauville American Film Festival in France this week, with all of her looks courtesy of Chanel.
This comes as no surprise as the French beauty has been an ambassador of the brand for quite some time; unlike Keira Knightley, who will wear Valentino here and Simone Rocha there, Astrid stays fiercely committed to Chanel.

‘Before I Go To Sleep’ Premiere: Going for a more laidback, yet still dressy approach, the actress wore a simple white tee with a textured leather skirt, dialling the look down from the runway to make it her own, which worked in her favour. While I will mark her down for mixing her metals and carrying a shoulder bag when a clutch would’ve elevated the chicness of this look, she is always a class act on the red carpet.

‘I Origins’ Photocall: For her second look, she wore a navy and white dress which, despite the cute bow, still had a touch of schoolmarm to it. This was further compounded with the lace-up brogues and 40s updo. You may remember that fellow Chanel ambassador Keira Knightley wore this same dress back in January this year, with a lot more success methinks.

‘The November Man’ Premiere: Yesterday evening the actress dazzled in a Chanel Pre-Fall 2014 ballet-inspired black tulle gown rendered with gold star sequin embroidery throughout. Playing up the romantic mood of the look she teased her hair into a loose braid, accenting a complementary gold heart-shaped headband with Chanel pearls draped around her neck. Of the three looks this has to be my favourite as I’m swept away by the fairytale vibe, although I do find myself wanting to swap her shoes with Look 1.

Keira Knightley In Michael Van Der Ham – ‘Laggies’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Keira Knightley In Michael Van Der Ham - 'Laggies' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Keira Knightley attended the premiere of her film ‘Laggies’ at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on Wednesday (September 10).

For the occasion, the star wore a gorgeous navy-colored custom Michael Van Der Ham gown with black and silver beaded applique detailing, and tulle overlay skirt.

She paired the gown with stunning diamond and pearl jewels and simple black pumps.

Keira wears both the color navy and a boatneck neckline so well, and this intricate and creative look is a fun addition to her arsenal of lovely ensembles during TIFF.

A bright red lip was the perfect makeup choice to go with this gown, and paired with gray-lined eyes and slightly purple-tinged eyeshadow, the makeup look is a total win.

Even a slightly messy, low-slong ponytail, thanks in part to an extremely windy red carpet, doesn’t detract from the lovely look.
