Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

From awards galas to premieres and more, there were plenty of occasions for the men to be out in force on the red carpet. Here’s a look at the men who have been front and centre.

Justin Timberlake: Proving that the velvet trend isn’t just for the ladies, Justin cut a thoroughly suave profile in this dark-green velvet Tom Ford tuxedo at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood. I love this luxe twist on the classic tux.

Jason Momoa: Although his styling may have been more in the manner of edgy-bohemian, Jason’s custom Valentino tuxedo was quite smooth and polished at the ‘Justice League’ LA premiere on Monday (November 13).

Jared Leto: It’s Jared Leto and it’s an MTV event, so it’s only natural that he would go sartorially wild at the 2017 MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 12) in London with his latest Gucci endeavor—a Fall 2017 look that was even more subversively rebellious than the runway presentation. The colour discord between the lavender, bubblegum, and red track pants made me want to shield my eyes—and we haven’t even gotten to the tidy-whitey sneakers.

2017 MTV EMAs Red Carpet Roundup

While many will still be talking about Rita Ora’s double bathrobe moment at the 2017 MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 12) in London, there were plenty of other daring looks to likewise borrow some of the spotlight.

Leomie Anderson: I love how the model looked to vintage Vivienne Westwood inspiration in this Fall 1994 look. Her high ponytail and combat boots added another layer of sassy edge to the look that had plenty of modern edge.

Demi Lovato: Proving that plaid and a paper-bag waist can somehow maintain a sexy appeal, Demi worked the proportions of this Styland suit to her advantage. Giuseppe Zanotti plafforms were clearly necessary given the length of the pants, with Messika jewelry rounding out the look. If the super-long extensions get a pass, it’s only because of this being a MTV occasion.

Tallia Storm: Her Topshop ‘Cosmic Star’ embellished slip dress offered an accessible interpretation on red-carpet dressing. I can easily see the socks and platforms being a sticking point, however, they did bring funky appeal, with an Alexander McQueen clutch for a bit of overt British flavour to finish the look.

Rita Ora In Palomo Spain – 2017 MTV EMAs

When you’re Rita Ora and you’re hosting the 2017 MTV EMAs, a sheer dress or a dress slashed to the navel ain’t going to cut it, so she opted to take things to the next level by wearing two bathrobe-inspired looks from the Beyonce-approved label: Palomo Spain.

Red Carpet:  Attention seeking? Yes, but I have to say I’m totally buying this brand of tongue-and-cheek humor. The look is unique and it did its job by making her stand out as the host. I love how her £6 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and sparkling Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ pumps added the touch of glamour to the look. For me it will go down as one of the iconic MTV red carpet looks. Or the one of the most memorable at least. Lady Gaga had her meat dress, Rita has her bathrobe.

Lana Del Rey In Gucci – 2017 MTV EMAs

Lana Del Rey attended the 2017 MTV EMAs yesterday evening (November 12) in London.

To pin point her style is quite difficult, as it’s all her own.

She often goes from swinging 60s, classy 70s to authentic 80s b-girl, while sporting either a beehive, long 40s-esque waves, or middle-parted 70s sleek straight style.

Tonight she presented another mash up of eras rocking a sultry Gucci Fall 2017 floral dress with Veronica Lake waves.

Gucci already have many muses, but I feel like their vintage-inspired dresses are the perfect brand fit for the singer.

Zara Larsson In Alessandra Rich – 2017 MTV EMAs

Zara Larsson took to the red carpet prior to her performance at the 2017 MTV EMAs this evening (November 12) in London, where she picked up an EMA for ‘Best Swedish Act’.

Red Carpet: Flaunting on-trend ruffles and a lively pop of colour, this shoulder-baring top and wide leg trousers combo was a bold and cool choice for the occasion.

Winners Room: I love how her Alessandra Rich Fall 2017 dress comes with the signature girlish touches the brand is known for. Layers of voluminous white tulle will either fall into kitsch or straightforward gorgeousness for you. Which side of the fence are you?

Camila Cabello In Ralph & Russo – 2017 MTV EMAs

Camila Cabello picked up the Best Pop Awards at the 2017 MTV EMAs this evening (November 12) in London.

The singer wore a deceptively sweet blush pink Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 gown.

However, on closer inspection, the gown possesses the daring traits you expect from a music event with the sheerness and glaring chest pads.

Should Camila have lined this look?
