Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Two of Hollywood’s hottest stars were seated in the front row at the Calvin Klein Fall 2012 presentation, which closed New York Fashion Week last week.

Rooney Mara: The actress wore a Calvin Klein Pre-Fall 2012 dress in her favourite colour: black. Her chic sleeveless dress with mesh yoke and fluted skirt was styled with black strappy sandals, a simple bun and pretty, neutral makeup.

Emma Stone: The actress opted for more colour, wearing a red Calvin Klein knit top with a full skirt. She accessorized with Brian Atwood ‘Sinful’ red ankle strap peep toes and a contrasting metallic silver fold-over clutch. A ponytail, kohl-rimmed eyes and a pink lip colour completed her look.

Whilst I like both their choices, I wish Rooney’s wasn’t so predictable. At this rate she’s going to run out of LBDs to wear.

The front row at Marchesa was full of pretty young things and an angry-looking Taylor Momsen.

Petra Nemcova looked stunning wearing a classic red Marchesa strapless dress.

I was seated directly behind Bar Refaeli who shielded me from the flash bulbs. Her silver Marchesa mini was teamed with black strappy sandals.

Stacy Keibler, who is taller than I expected, stood out wearing a red lace Marchesa dress with an illusion bodice.

Like Bar, Adeperi Oduye also opted for a silver dress, but she paired hers with matching sandals.

For a while I mistook Jenna Dewan for Eva Longoria. She wore a strapless fuschia Marchesa dress with ecru sandals.

Apart from her racoon eyes and looking PO’ed, Taylor Momsen actually looked really good wearing a midnight-blue lace dress with beige pumps. She was also much taller than I expected.

Rose Byrne: The actress was the last to arrive for the Marc Jacobs presentation which took place during New York Fashion Week. The photogs managed to snap this picture before she was rushed to her front-row seat. She wore a gingham cropped-sleeve coat from the Spring 2012 collection with Mary Janes and a yellow fringed clutch from the same collection.

Dakota Fanning: It wasn’t a surprise to see the actress front row at the Marc Jacobs show earlier this week. She wore a shimmering Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 eyelet dress with a beaded tiered chiffon-accented hemline. A blue Marc Jacobs clutch with clear fringed details and Mary Janes completed her look.

Maria Sharapova: The tennis champ was the surprising attendee of the Marc Jacobs presentation. She wore an ice-blue tulle Marc Jacobs dress with velvet strips. The clutch and the shoes are so out of whack with the dress.

Michael Kors always has a front row full of major celebs.

Jessica Alba: The actress seemed to thoroughly enjoy the Michael Kors presentation as she took many pictures of key looks on her iPhone in between pointing out looks to stylist Brad Goreski who was seated next to her husband. She stole the show wearing a turquoise keyhole sheath dress with a leather yoke from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2012 collection. Teamed with tights and ankle boots, the actress completed her look with a Pre-Fall black-and-white haircalf clutch.

Paula Patton: I didn’t see Paula’s stylist, whoever he or she may be, but I hope they were taking plenty of notes, as Paula is in need of a red-carpet redemption look following last year’s Mission Impossible promo tour. On this occasion she looked gorgeous also wearing a look from the Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2012 collection. Her LBD with lace sleeves and a lace yoke was teamed with black leather criss-cross sandals from the same collection.

Amber Heard: The actress, who never looks anything less than wow, looked stunning wearing an ivory super-fitted dress with a black lace detail. A chic ponytail and an orangey red lip colour completed her look.

Debra Messing: Sporting a warm rich plum hair colour, the actress stood out the most in the front row wearing a Resort 2012 neon-pink sheath dress accented with a gold patent leather belt. The colour is outstanding, but I would’ve loved her to have added a black belt to complement her black Louboutin peep-toes.

I was so excited to see Zoe Saldana sitting two rows in front of me at the Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 presentation during New York Fashion Week yesterday.

As you can image she was a vision of perfection. Just as radiant and glossy as I had imagined.

The woman who kick started our obsession with the designer wore a chic look from Prabal’s Spring 2012 collection.

Her aqua and white trimmed blazer was teamed with a white knit v-neck top and psychedelic print pants.

The look was perfected with Nicholas Kirkwood for Prabal Gurung shoes.

This is my first BDOTW contender.

Cameron Diaz attended the Valentino Spring 2012 Couture presentation in Paris yesterday, which closed Couture Fashion Week.

She of course wore a look from Valentino’s Spring 2012 collection.

Whilst I love the white floral lace button-down dress, its more Elle Fanning or Alexa Chung than Cameron Diaz.

I have been a long-time campaigner for Cameron to show off her legs more often, but after a succession of mature looks this week, this feels very out of sync.

Nude Christian Louboutin pumps and a Valentino clutch completed her look.
