Fan Bingbing In Delpozo – ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Singapore Premiere

Fan Bingbing In Delpozo - 'X-Men Days of Future Past' Singapore Premiere

Fan Bingbing attended the ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Southeast Asia premiere today (May 14) in Singapore.

Keeping it interesting and varied once again, the actress wore a Delpozo Spring 2014 gown.

Had it not been for the runway image, we couldn’t have known this dress was indeed strapless.

With that in mind, I wish Bingbing had worn her hair up to really showcase the convex neckline and contrast gingham-printed overlay on the bodice.

It would be a crime to take scissors to such a beautiful gown, but the skirt is just a tad overwhelming on her petite frame.

Despite my nitpicks, I adore this gown.

Chopard jewels – and, I’m confident, a pair of quadruple-stacked heels – completed her look.

Fan Bingbing attended the ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ premiere at Indigo Shopping Mall today (May 13) in Beijing, China.

The actress wore a Zac Posen Fall 2014 black strapless gown with a pointy fitted bodice and a dramatic full skirt with a rise-and-fall hemline.

Some frown (myself included) at the actress’s dramatics on occasion, but this gown cuts a graceful architectural frame showcasing the designer’s flair for pleating, which she carries off with great aplomb.

Styled with moderate platform peep-toes, the look was complemented with Chopard jewels, a Louis Vuitton clutch, and a red velvet veiled fascinator enhancing her ’40s updo.

Rebecca Lim In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2014 Star Awards

Rebecca Lim In Giambattista Valli Couture - 2014 Star Awards

Rebecca Lim attended the 2014 Star Awards in Singapore, where she picked up two awards including Best Supporting Actress.

The actress wore a Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 Couture strapless gown with a stunning electric-blue bodice and a pleated peplum mermaid skirt accented with a black waistband.

There is a lot going on, and she carried it well; however, I would’ve stripped back this look further than the understated hairstyle and opted to go sans jewels.

Zhang Ziyi In Carolina Herrera – 2014 Beijing International Film Festival Closing Ceremony

Zhang Ziyi In Carolina Herrera - 2014 Beijing International Film Festival Closing Ceremony

Zhang Ziyi attended the closing ceremony of the 2014 Beijing International Film Festival held at BTV Theater on Wednesday (April 23) in Beijing, China, where she picked up her 10th best actress award for ‘The Grandmaster’.

The actress wore a dramatic Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2014 jacquard trench gown with an elegant, full-skirted silhouette, patterned with a multicoloured rose print and tailored with an open neckline.

This head-turning look is a bold move for Ziyi, who started this festival in a soft hue. I love how daring and dramatic this look is without being over the top or forgoing its femininity.

A neat updo and complementary fuchsia lip rounded out her look.

Masami Nagasawa In Chloé – 4th Beijing Film Festival

Masami Nagasawa In Chloé - 4th Beijing Film Festival

Masami Nagasawa took to the red carpet for the 4th Beijing International Film Festival held at China’s National Grand Theatre on Wednesday (April 16) in Beijing, China.

The Japanese actress opted not to wear a gown as expected; instead she marched to the beat of her own drum, wearing a Chloé Spring 2014 black spaghetti-strap handkerchief-hem frock with metallic embroidery and a gold-brass chain trim.

She complemented the look with gold Christian Louboutin ‘Valnina’ glitter-finished and leather sandals and opted for minimal, if any, makeup.

Was this look too muted for a film festival, or does this come as a refreshing change of pace?

Zhang Ziyi In Zuhair Murad Couture – 4th Beijing Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Zhang Ziyi In Zuhair Murad Couture - 4th Beijing Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Zhang Ziyi took to the stage for the opening ceremony of the 4th Beijing International Film Festival held at China’s National Grand Theatre on Wednesday (April 16) in Beijing, China.

Changing out of her Elie Saab red carpet jumpsuit, the actress outdid herself, wearing a stunning Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture gown.

This was my favourite couture show of the season, and I’m delighted to see so many pieces making their way off the runway and onto the red carpet.

Ziyi looked radiant in her long-sleeved fully beaded gold gown featuring a long train.

Some may be suffering a tinge of disappointment that this beauty wasn’t worn on the red carpet, but I’m just grateful that I can’t see what shoes she’s wearing under this gown.

Of the two looks, which do you prefer: this glamorous, somewhat expected gown or the sleek Elie Saab jumpsuit?
