Zhang Ziyi In Tom Ford – 2017 Vogue Film Gala

Zhang Ziyi put the power of an LBD to work for her at the 2017 Vogue Film Gala on Friday (June 16) in Shanghai, China.

I love the relaxed off-the-shoulder asymmetry presented in this Tom Ford Fall 2017 velvet mini, which created a sassy swankiness of form.

But, let’s face it. This look was as much about the dress as the jewels—if not more so. Bejeweled bangles, ring, timepiece, and earrings all took centre stage against the canvas of the frock.

To round it out, she naturally brought the silver platforms out to play which somewhat compromised the elegance ratio.

Araya A. Hargate In Ralph & Russo Couture & Giambattista Valli Couture – 2017 Shanghai International Film Festival

Araya A. Hargate amazed us at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival for her ultimate command of head-turning maternity style. At the 2017 Shanghai International Film Festival over the weekend (July 17 and 18), she kept her mama-to-be style statements going strong.

First up, she offered up a purely feminine and romantic stance with this petal-pink organza robe gown from the Ralph & Russo Spring 2017 Couture collection. Long waves cascading around her shoulders played right into the dreamy boudoir mood. A Jaeger-LeCoultre watch paid homage to the official watch of the festival.

Fan Bingbing In Louis Vuitton – ‘The Amazing Race China’ Press Conference

With her chequered racing flag pattern on, Fan Bingbing was at the press conference for popular TV series ‘The Amazing Race China 4’ on Sunday (June 11) in Beijing.

We’ve seen the Louis Vuitton Spring 2017 collection in a number of outings with mixed results. On this occasion, there was an eye-catching panache with which Fan wore this graphic, black-and-white design that was half chess board, half Yayoi Kusama spots.

As we would expect, the shoes were of the stacked, platform variety with the silver-metallic hue picking up on the dress’s swirl of embellishment.

Her braid and curls added a side-swept softness to the look, but it could have easily withstood a sleek updo for a touch of inspired sleekness.

Fan Bingbing In Givenchy & Monse – Givenchy Store Opening & 8th China Film Directors’ Guild Awards

Fan Bingbing attended the Givenchy Store Opening in China on Friday (April 21) before heading to the 8th China Film Directors’ Guild Awards the next day.

Givenchy Store Opening: The Givenchy Fall 2017 collection was done entirely in bright red, and Fan brilliantly showed off one of the pieces in this cross between a tuxedo jacket and a robe. She strikingly styled the loose, languid look with a lace camisole and gloves, hinting at boudoir elegance.

China Film Directors’ Guild Awards: Completing flipping the script on her next look, Fan served up a far different form of relaxed elegance. I love how she paired the intentionally unkempt quality of the oversized Monse Fall 2016 striped shirt with the structured tailoring of a prim pencil skirt. Opposites do really attract here. And, how happy are we to see this look styled without platform shoes.

2017 Beijing International Film Festival

The opening ceremony of the 2017 Beijing International Film Festival in China on Sunday (April 16) brought with it a number of elaborate looks to usher in the festivities.

Liu Yifei 刘茜美子 : It’s hard not to be fully enchanted by this Zuhair Murad Spring 2017 Couture lavender-purple confection, what with its extravagantly voluminous tulle skirt and cascades of glittering embellishment. I love how the exploded peplum folds added a modern edge to thi fairy-tale princess moment.

Lin Chi-ling In Versace – ‘The Monkey King 3’ Beijing Press Conference

Lin Chi-ling joined Zhao Liying for the press conference of ‘The Monkey King 3’ on Saturday (April 15) in Beijing, China.

The beautiful actress donned Versace Spring 2017 from head-to-toe.

I love how the look takes its style cues from the strength the labels sultry energy and simplicity of sporty athleisure wear, however, I’m not fond of her styling.

The black sandals feel too heavy in comparison to the dual colour on the runway.
