Luisa Ranieri fulfilled her hosting duties at the ‘Birdman’ premiere, where she opened the ceremony of the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy on Wednesday evening (August 27).

Dressing every bit the part as beautiful host, the Italian actress brought a jolt of electric blue to the proceedings via her Armani Privé strapless gown, stunning in its hourglass silhouette overlaid with the elegance of a semitransparent full ball skirt.

This particular shade of gleaming sapphire simply radiated on the red carpet. At every turn, a new side of the dynamic dress was revealed as it positively transformed depending on the light that hit it.

The gown also was a brilliant reminder of what happens when the sheer trend is translated correctly.

The sparkle of a few diamonds and a polished retro-glam ‘do were all she needed to complete the look.

Bianca Balti In Dolce & Gabbana - ‘Birdman’ Venice Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Bianca Balti graced the red carpet at the ‘Birdman’ premiere, held during the opening ceremony of the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy on Wednesday (August 27).

Everything was coming up flowers for the Italian model who posed in a Dolce & Gabbana strapless black chiffon gown with embroidered Sardinian-inspired, blooming vines that traced through the comfortable, voluminous silhouette.

The effect was both relaxed and refined—and likewise enhanced by Bianca’s model-esque proportions.

Elaborate, jewel-encrusted earrings were made all the more a star of this showing because of the simple styling that only just included a top-knot and a matte crimson lip that tied the look together.

Emmys Skin

Hair and makeup artists aren’t the only experts who make sure celebrities are ready for the cameras during award shows. Their dermatologists also play a big role in prepping for red carpet appearances.

Harold A. Lancer, MD FAAD is a favorite amongst celebs and it’s clear to see why. His procedures and products have been used on Hollywood’s most famous faces and bodies. At this year’s Emmy Awards two of the many celebs he worked with were Sofia Vergara, and Julianna Margulies. With his help the ladies were picture perfect for the evening.

Sofia Vergara prepped her skin for the red carpet with the Venus Concept Legacy treatment. It’s a non-surgical body contouring, cellulite reduction, and skin tightening remedy. There are three different types of Venus Treatments the Swan, Freeze, Legacy. Each treatment works with, “Multi-polar radio frequencies which cause a thermal reaction that stimulates the body’s natural healing response.” The fast result make it a celebrity fave before important events.

The secret to Julianna Margulies’ skin starts with Dr. Lancer’s three-step method: polish, cleanse, and nourish. The Method focuses on the dermis and allows the skin to repair itself. Most skincare routines recommend that you exfoliate the skin last, but Dr. Lancer’s process is reversed, as he believes that products will work more effectively if the skin is first exfoliated.

Sounds like the beginning of a flawless selfie.

Emma Stone In Valentino Couture - 'Birdman' Venice Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Having recently wrapped filming Woody Allen’s ‘Magic in the Moonlight’, Emma Stone attended the premiere of her latest movie, ‘Birdman’ during the opening ceremony of the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy this evening (August 24).

Sporting a new shorter hairstyle, which we didn’t notice at the photocall as her hair was swept up into an updo, the actress glided down the red carpet wearing a Valentino Fall 2014 Couture gown; a frothy green tulle gown no less.

Be still my beating heart.

Despite the red hair green gown combo setting my senses on fire, everything about this look is so poised, serene and elegant.

This is what my red carpet dreams are made of.

Keeping the bling to a bare minimum rings by Graziela Gems and EF Collection, she styled her breath-taking look with Jimmy Choo ‘Xenia’ sandals and ‘Cameo’ clutch in gold.

Nieves Alvarez In Alberta Ferretti - 'Birdman' Venice Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Nieves Alvarez stunned while taking to the red carpet for the ‘Birdman’ premiere which also served as the opening ceremony for the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy this evening (August 24).

The raspberry hue of this Alberta Ferretti frock was enough to bowl me over, but add the intricate detailing, the open back and Bulgari Haute Couture jewels and we have yet another BDOTW contender.

Styled also with a magenta and gold Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, the only thing I would dare change about this look is add an elegant updo.
