Elie Saab’s Spring 2009 collection did not have a much bling as I always expect, but as usual it was a flawless collection.

The colour palette consisted of lime green, lilac, violet and buttercup yellow, plus he also incorporated some prints.

As ever the collection was dominated by red-carpet gowns (the reason why I love him so much). The dresses were either ultra short, or very long, with billowing trains.

I loved the blue cocktail dresses with frilly hems, which also come in a similar lime green version.

I would love to see Cameron Diaz wear the pink strapless gown with the thigh-high split.

Dita von Teese was in the front row wearing head to toe black. Her fur cuff coat is from the Elie Saab Fall 2008 collection.

Milla Jovovich opted for a silver mini dress with layers and sequin detail.

She wore her dress with flats, an embroidered jacket and tights.

Against a backdrop of the first Chanel store at rue Cambon, Chanel’s Spring 2009 presentation attempted to lift any gloom those fashion editors might be having about their clothing allowances possibly being slash during the credit crunch.

As standard the classic bouclé jacket were presented, but they also came in cropped versions of pale pink, and a black and white graphic check.

Also presented were mini sweater dresses, tunic dresses, stylish separates, latex pants, latex swimming costumes, shift dress and a cropped tuxedo suit.

An interesting feature that kept reappearing on the pieces were jeweled brooches, which had chains that were pinned to the hip.

Last season Karl presented two-tone tights, and he did it again this season, but this time the opaque/sheer split was horizontal, and it looked like cropped leggings on some of the models.

Evening gowns were full skirted, some with ruffles and frills, and others were made of sheer and chiffon fabrics.

Karl Lagerfeld produced a wonderful collection.

Claudia Schiffer sure does love her animal print.

The house model wore a long caramel cardigan as a dress, with a leopard print belt and t-bar sandals.

Zoe Kravitz is so darn cool.

The youngster wore a Chanel checked bandeau dress, with an array of Chanel necklaces and grey tipped patent black boots.

Emma Watson went all spacey on us, wearing a sliver dress with matching jacket, teamed with a pair of black leggings and strappy black wedges.

Milla Jovovich FINALLY ditch the Heidi braids.

She wore a military-esqe coat over her cream separates and Chanel black and ivory pearls.

Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring 2009 felt like a homage to the late designer with many tuxedo jackets, kimono jackets and superb tailoring.

The opening jackets were teamed with pants which had a dropped crotch and came in three lengths.

Transparency was another theme of the collection, with sheer blouses, jacket, and top over matching bras.

This was a classic collection with silk shorts suits, high-waisted tulip skirts, and elegant black shift dresses.

What I loved from the show are the leather mesh booties. OK they look incredibly painful to walk in, but they are so well constructed.

Top of my wishlist.

A tired looking Naomi Campbell was of course in the front row as the current face of the brand. She was wearing the celebrity favourite uniform YSL Trib Two Platform Pumps, with a grey YSL Fall 2008 skirt suit, with a black patent belt.

Yikes. Claudia Schiffer might like this animal print, but the print is not loving her.

Classy, classic, tailored. Of course it is Dita von Teese, who is also wearing the YSL Trib Two Platform Pumps.

Natalia Vodianova wore a very androgynous Givenchy Spring 2009 all black ensemble.

Yikes again. This time for Stephanie Seymour. The supermodel wore an Azzedine Alaia high-waisted leather skirt, with a jersey long sleeved top. This was fabulous, but the leggings really ruined this look for me.

Emma Watson has really impressed me this Paris Fashion Week. Some girls her aged would have been intimidated by the event and over dressed, but Emma has kept her looks consistently youthful, light and fresh.

She wears her snake embroidered YSL tee, with black YSL tapered pants, YSL Fall 2008 platform sandals and she carried a silver metallic YSL tote.

Giambattista Valli Spring 2009 collection proved that the designer still like to make dramatic silhouettes, like he presented last season.

The dresses had super puffy skirts, that nipped in at the waist for a very 50s type look.

He also presented his signature padded and cocooned pieces, with padded collars and peplum jackets.

My favourites were the sheath dress, which I am sure fan Victoria Beckham will love.

The tulle and wool gowns were stunning, but I would wonder who would dare to wear them on the red carpet.

Natalie Portman finally brought some A list Hollywood glamour to this Paris Fashion Week.

The actress was in the front row looking gorgeous wearing a classic LBD, with an interesting sleeve detail.

Emma Watson has really impressed me the amount of shows she has been to this season.

Here she wears a Marc Jacobs Printed ottoman tunic with black legging and black pumps.

Sonia Rikiel Spring 2009 collection showed that the exuberant designer was in typically high spirits, which always translates in a fun show.

Models bounced down the runway wearing berets studded with rhinestones, ruffled blouses, sweaters with butterfly or lip motifs, mannish trouser suits, jumpsuits and candy-coloured ostrich feather gowns.

The second part of the show was a was a tribute to Sonia Rykiel’s 40th Anniversary in fashion. Models in Sonia Rykiel inspired looks took to the runway.

Each one was designed by some of fashion’s biggest names. Martin Margiela made a fur coat of Rykiel’s flame-red mane.

Rodarte produced a sweater dress which read “Obama.”

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac created the printed strapless dress, with the mane of red hair.

Jean Paul Gaultier paid homage to Rykiel’s title of the ‘Queen of Knits’ and he produced a ball-of-wool dress, with giant knitting needles and trailing a ball of yarn, and Jeremy Scott produced a Super(wo)man sweater dress.

Emma Watson was in the front row and attended the after show dinner wearing a metallic knit kimono sleeved dress.

Dita von Teese opted for more elegance, in a navy strapless gown with a mermaid ruffled hem.

Milla Jovovich is killing with that hairstyle. It really ruins her beautiful white beated Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2008 gown.

Givenchy’s Spring 2009 presentation included capes, jackets, with full length and 3/4 sleeves, second-skin tapered pants, ultra-short dresses with see-through panels revealing lacy undergarments, starched white shirts and jeans with built in chaps.

There was a lot of black and white, but also some pastel yellow, peaches and denim.

Natalia Vodianova and husband Justin Portman attended the Givenchy show.

The gorgeous model wore a black Givenchy Fall 2008 dress with gold built in necklaces for added dramatic effect.

The fashion forward editor of French Vogue, Carine Roitfeld arrived with her daughter Julia.

Julia wore a black dress with YSL heels, whilst her uber cool mum – who must have the most enviable closet in the world – wore a Givenchy Spring 2009 coat – yes she is that fashion forward – with Margiela boots.

Amazing boots, but they must hurt after a long day of show hopping.

I am not loving Milla Jovivich look at all. I think it’s the Heidi hair that’s working horribly against her.

Christian Lacroix’ Spring 2009 collection was a splendid reminder of all things fun and exciting for Spring. He brought back the 80s with broad-shoulders and big-haired models.

Lacroix presented stripes and polka dots, big and small, sometimes all at the same time, on chiffon dresses.

Ruffles were sculptured, patterns were draped, twisted, and beautifully mismatched.

When a lot of designers has been holding back, Lacroix’s mix and match collection was very refreshing.

Tinsley Mortimer attended her first Paris show wearing a Balenciaga jacket, a black silk skirt and YSL Folies sandals.

Balenciaga’s Spring 2009 collection had a very futuristic feel to it, like the pieces belong in a sci-fi movie.

The colour palette started of with very neutral colours, then there was a delightful array of colours with metallics, sequins and foil-like boxy jackets.

The opening pieces all had love hearts, which you may remember were featured heavily in Versace’s Spring 2009 collection.

The most interesting features were gloves that were sewn into jackets, and tights which were pulled over the shoes.

Also on display were tunic tops, slim pant, flared pants and the designer’s signature pants, which had asymmetric belts in pastel colors.

Actress Salma Hayek wearing a black Balenciaga dress, fueled reports she is back with her ex-fiance Franciois-Heri Pinault by being papped together at this show.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2009 collection was a very eclectic mix of swimming costumes with built-in capes, skirts tied at the waist, worn with little tank tops, and fluid gowns, some with cinched waists.

The colours ranged from black to vibrant yellows.

Dita von Teese wore had worn pretty pastel yesterday at Dior, return to darker colours in this grey Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2008 couture suit, which she wore with a sheer blouse.

Not sure if it is the light or her make-up, but she also looks a lot paler than she did yesterday.
