Grammys Mens 1

While the Grammys are always a stage for wild fashion from the women’s side, the men typically tend to stay on the classic side – with a few exceptions, of course. The menswear always has a lot of diversity, ranging from dapper to disgusting. This year featured a lot of monochromatic looks and, unfortunately, a lot of bad tailoring.

Justin Timberlake: He’s back and he’s looking better than ever. Suiting up in collaboration with Tom Ford was clearly a wondrous decision. Justin made his return to the Grammys wearing an impeccably tailored Tom Ford black tuxedo with a hip twist on the jacket. His shawl collar was matched with a white-edged black pocket square and a droopy black bow tie. What made this outfit so perfect, though, was the way he was able to honour the old school while staying so modern. He kept his look classic with the black studs on his shirt, those amazing black-and-white loafers, and white dress socks. And he even wore a black cummerbund. He’s easily my best dressed of the Grammys.

Frank Ocean: Prior to performing at the Grammys wearing a custom yellow Band of Outsiders tuxedo, Frank wore a Dior Homme navy wool broadcloth Teddy jacket with silver buttons, paired with a navy wool and silk round neck sleeveless sweater, and navy wool broadcloth slim pants for the red carpet. Both looks showcased his cool, laid-back style.

Ed Sheeran: The red-haired English singer gave a grand performance on stage, but not so much on the red carpet. Ed wore a poorly tailored Burberry navy tuxedo with a two-toned notch lapel. The problem was that his tux fit terribly: the waist was not tailored; the sleeves and pants were too long; and those shoes did not work. I’m all for sneakers with a suit, and I like those particular sneakers, but the rest of his outfit is so bad that it distracts from his shoes. A little more effort next time, Ed.

Nieves Alvarez Burberry

The statuesque Nieves Alvarez dialed up the glam quotient on Solo Moda this weekend.

In keeping with her current one-exclusive-designer-per-episode policy, on Saturday the TV host turned to Burberry Prorsum’s Spring 2013 collection.

Nieves showcased her femme fatale curves in one of my favourites from the collection, the pink jewel-toned metallic strapless dress replete with curve detailing at the corset bust and a subtle peplum detail at the waist. The yellow peep-toe pumps added the perfect finishing touch and pop of colour to this high-shine supercharged look.

Next up, Nieves opted for a studied chic look in a tailored white silk Burberry Prorsum trench with a retro cape paired with cut-out Christian Louboutin ankle boots. I would have loved it if she had opted to inject a touch of colour into this fabulous outerwear with a pair of bold killer heels.

Her final Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 ensemble is one I’ve admired before on Emma Stone at the 2012 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards. This gorgeous structured navy-blue peplum corset top with a black waistband donned with a decadent sparkly green pencil skirt is a stellar look that could have been a real winner had Nieves chosen a more dramatic shoe to complete the look.

Sigourney Weaver Wore Her 2013 SAG Awards Lanvin Gown Back-To-Front

Sigourney Weaver did an Angelina Jolie on the red carpet at the 2013 SAG Awards on Sunday.

Not the ‘right-leg’ thing; the wearing of a dress ‘back-to-front’ thing.

On Browns Fashion her black satin Lanvin gown with ruffled trims and an asymmetrical hemline is featured as having a plunging neckline.

On Sigourney the gown has a high neckline with an open back.

Maybe she thought the plunge was too deep so she opted for a sexy back instead.

Either way between the flat back of the gown pressing against her chest and the fact that she didn’t wear a bra she’s giving a whole new meaning to the words SAG Awards.

Jennifer Lopez In Lanvin Blanche - 'Parker' New York Screening

After non-stop TV appearances to promote her latest movie ‘Parker’ this week, Jennifer Lopez attended the New York screening held at the Museum of Modern Art yesterday evening.

Dressed in head-to-toe Lanvin, the actress gave us sexy face wearing a pure all-white look.

Her Lanvin Blanche 2013 Bridal peplum strapless frock with a bow accent was styled with white ankle-strap pumps with a gold trim and a matching clutch from the same designer.

When did white pumps become so popular again?

This look is just OK for me. I’m waiting for her to regain her wow factor.

For some reason, when I saw Jennifer she instantly made me think of Kim Kardashian as this frock is something the reality TV star would wear thinking she’s JLo.

Usually envied for her glossy tresses, her hair looks very lacklustre on this occasion as her extensions look dry.

Yao Chen In Lanvin - 2013 Sina Weibo Awards

Yao Chen joined Zhang Ziyi on the red carpet for the 2013 Sina Weibo Awards held at the China World Trade Center Tower 3 in Beijing, China on Monday evening.

Also opting for a slicked-back ‘do, the Chinese actress wore a Lanvin Spring 2013 dress.

Her sleeveless mini dress, featuring a mannequin photographic print, was styled with an Olympia Le-Tan clutch and metallic-silver Jimmy Choo pumps.

Chen’s clutch is competing with her dress. I think she should’ve opted for a clutch in a solid colour.

Overall, I’m not crazy about this look either.

Ellen Pompeo In Lanvin - 2013 People’s Choice Awards

Ellen Pompeo took home the trophy for ‘Favourite Dramatic TV Actress’ at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards hosted last night at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in California.

Rather than go super-dressy, the popular ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star went for a breezy, effortless spin in a loose, pleated maxi dress in soft cream, paired with a black leather waist belt and a marigold yellow clutch, all from Lanvin’s Resort 2013 collection.

Cuffed sleeves contributed a casual vibe, while a daringly high front slit added a sexy peek-a-boo element when she walked. She took the runway look a step further by revealing a plunging neckline, which was a smart style move.

The belt provided much-needed shape and edge. But it was the sunny color of the clutch that unexpectedly provided an interesting punch to this otherwise monochrome ensemble.

Ellen further accessorized with gold Sydney Evan jewelry and a Jennifer Meyer pendant necklace, along with barely visible Christian Louboutin heels.
