Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Maria Menounos arrived at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre this evening (March 2) for the 2014 Oscars wearing a white, beaded gown by Australian designer Johanna Johnson paired with an Ashlyn’d clutch

The actress and TV presenter’s dress skews a bit bridal, which is unsurprising since the designer designs wedding gowns in addition to eveningwear. However, the messy updo keeps her from looking like she is ready to walk down the aisle.

The crystal accents on the waist and shoulders as well as the beading add that something special that you look for in an Oscars gown and a daringly low back (not pictured) keeps things sexy.

Tika Sumpter In Johanna Johnson - NAACP Image Awards 2014Tika Sumpter was also among the crush of stars at the NAACP Image Awards 2014, hosted at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California on Saturday (February 22).

The actress glided onto the red carpet in a languid Johanna Johnson gown in a glossy champagne hue.

Accenting the creamy silk slip dress with a touch of metal, she carried a gold L.K. Bennett ‘Nina’ clutch and looped on a double-strand tassel necklace.

With her hair coaxed into finger waves and her lips painted with a matte rouge lacquer, the whole effect of the look was one of vintage glam. Do you like the retro appeal?

Pink In Johanna Johnson - 2014 Grammy Awards

Pink perhaps channeled the red carpet as her style inspiration at the 2014 Grammy Awards, hosted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Sunday night (January 26).

The singer, who we don’t typically see in a crimson shade such as this, wore a strapless Johanna Johnson gown.

More femininely beautiful than rock-n-roll rad, the dress featured a moderate front slit and a corsetry-inspired bodice with bodycon seaming.

While her diamond, pendant earrings were spot-on, a red Rauwolf clutch nearly clashed and may have been better replaced by a subtle, contrasting hue.

She topped off the look with her platinum-blonde mini-pompadour, a heavy charcoal-tinged smokey eye and a nude lip.

With a dress like this, should she walk on the red side more often?

John Legend In Gucci & Chrissy Teigen In Johanna Johnson - 2014 Grammy Awards

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen were an all-star music—and style—couple on the red-carpet of the 2014 Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (January 26).

The suave singer was polished as usual in a black Gucci shawl collar tux, paired with a white button-down dress shirt, a pert black bow tie and a Malek Farhat timepiece. But, when it comes to fashion, let’s face it, this was really all about his better half.

John’s model wife was positively dripping in gold, donning a dazzlingly reflective, strapless Johanna Johnson front-slit gown that dramatically trailed behind her.

The high-wattage dress was the main attraction here, so only a few well-placed golden accessories, including Neil Lane earrings, Casadei sandals and a Kotur clutch, were needed to complete the shiny Midas touch.

The smolder continued, as the bronzed and beautiful Chrissy wore a subdued, smokey eye and glossy, nude lip. I can only think that her loosely waved locks, and a side braid detail, were meant to add a bit of rock-star edge to all that metallic glamour.

Kimberly Perry In Johanna Johnson - 2013 CMA Awards

Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry looked gorgeous while taking to the red carpet for the 47th annual CMA Awards held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee yesterday evening.

The singer wore a beautiful embroidered Johanna Johnson ivory gown with an open back.

Her cap-sleeved gown was complemented with a Swarovski silver-and-ivory ‘Starlight’ crystallized box clutch, with teardrop earrings, a wavy updo and a pretty pink lip colour providing the finishing touches.
