Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I have been waiting for a look from the Stéphane Rolland Spring 2011 Couture collection to be showcased on the red carpet ever since I attended the show back in January.

My wait is finally over as Miriam Yeung attended the 2011 Hong Kong Film Awards last night wearing an amazing sculptural gown.

I surprised at how this gown with a gold detail on the hip doesn’t appear to overwhelm her. She totally owns it and looks very comfortable.

Whilst I’m happy to see this look on the red carpet, I’m sad that this now mean there’s less chance of Cate or Tilda wearing it.

Thankfully there are many more amazing pieces from this collection for them to choose from. Read more…

We breathed a collective sigh of relief when Nicole Kidman hit the red carpet at the 2011 Grammy Awards this week.

The Nicole Kidman we all know and love was back.

Despite Lady GaGa’s egg, Nicki Minaj’s head-to-toe leopard Givenchy print and Katy Perry’s wings, we only had eyes for Nicole in Jean Paul Gaultier Couture.

This BDOTY worthy look definitely deserves a place in Nicole’s red carpet hall of fame.

Which other looks would you place in her Hall of Fame?

I would add her red Balenciaga gown as worn to the 2007 Oscars.

Best Dressed Award
I would never have expected to crown Nicole Kidman Best Dressed at the 2011 Grammy Awards, but she totally blew me away.

She’s appears to be back to her best.

We’ve been sensing from her recent red carpet looks that she’s loving dressing up on the red carpet again.

This strapless floral Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Couture mermaid gown actually manages to give Nicole some curves.

She was radiant on the red carpet. I can’t help revisiting this picture.

I Shouldn’t, But I Love It Award
Whilst I spent most of my time wondering if Rihanna was wearing any underwear on the red carpet tonight at the 2011 Grammy Awards. I did love her Jean Paul Gaultier Couture look.

Rihanna is always unpredictable which is what I love about her.

Sometimes it can go horribly wrong, but the risk paid off on this occasion.

She looks young, fresh and perfectly dressed for Grammy night.

I’m glad the red hair wasn’t as wild as it has been in recent weeks. The dress was right the main focus.

Nude Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle Plato’ heels completed her look.

Last year Rihanna performed with Jay-Z and Bono as part of the ”Hope For Haiti Now telethon at The Hospital Club in London.

She wore a Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2009 Couture look to perform back when she was sporting that curly honey colour ‘do.

Her black edgy JPG look which included a shimmering dress and a leather vest was paired with a leather baker boy hat, Christian Louboutin Pigalle heels and bracelets which she wore on her hands.

Kylie Minogue wore the red version with Emilio Pucci Spring 2011 thigh-high boots when she met the Prince of Wales after appearing on the ‘Royal Variety Performance’.

Despite many of you saying that Kylie look was inappropriate to meet the Prince and that she maybe a tad too old to still be dressing like this, I think she totally rocked it.

Kylie wins because I prefer the red plus I love that addition of the boots to her look.
