Alexa Chung In Christian Dior – Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

Alexa Chung In Christian Dior - Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

Alexa Chung attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards held at Berkeley Square Gardens on Tuesday (June 3) in London, England, where she picked up the Entrepreneur of the Year award.

The other surprising thing is that the TV presenter didn’t wear Chanel, instead opting for a Christian Dior Resort 2015 fit-and-flare black frock with a sheer embroidered bodice – which shatters my theory that if you are considered a Chanel ambassador (as she is) you can’t wear Dior.

My surprise is three-fold as I don’t find myself disliking the look.

Something has shifted when it comes to Alexa’s style. Perhaps she’s finally attempting to live up to her fashion icon status, as the hair looks good, I love the dress, the clunky mannish shoes have given way to dainty sandals, and she’s even sporting a tan.

Did hell freeze over, because I really love this from head to toe.

Lake Bell In Christian Dior – Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

Lake Bell In Christian Dior - Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

Lake Bell attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards held at Berkeley Square Gardens on Tuesday (June 3) in London, England, where she picked up the Film Maker of the Year award.

The pregnant star collected her award wearing head-to-toe black Dior.

Lake wore a one-shoulder pleated dress from the Spring 2014 collection styled with a Dior clutch and pointy Dior pumps, which I wish were in a contrasting colour.

Dior’s metallic-blue pumps would’ve looked great here but, as always, this is an uber-chic mother-to-be red carpet look from Lake.

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture – 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture - 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards

Marion Cotillard attended the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards held at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday (June 2) in New York City.

The French actress, who didn’t have the best time style-wise at Cannes, was of course wearing Dior on this occasion.

I love this Christian Dior Spring 2014 Couture white embroidered silk dress. It’s sweet and playful with nuances which make it a directional piece.

The look was styled with lemon Dior pumps with an asymmetrical white strap, plus Dior Fine Jewelry including a ‘Miss Dior’ white-gold ring with diamonds and aquamarine, plus a Chopard white-diamond collar necklace.

Barely there makeup rounded out her look.

Much improved or much the same?

Elena Lyadova In Christian Dior – ‘Leviathan’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Elena Lyadova In Christian Dior - 'Leviathan' Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Elena Lyadova attended the photocall for ‘Leviathan’ at the 67th Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, southern France this afternoon (May 23).

The Russian actress wore a Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2014 ensemble featuring a portrait-printed black wool-crepe tunic with a curved high neckline, skinny straps, and a draped angled back hem that split to show off a cut-out back. The top was paired with wide-leg wool-crepe trousers which were way too long.

You may remember that Camilla Belle wore this same look back in February.

Kinda disappointed by all the re-runs during this festival – with the exclusion of Aishwarya Rai, of course.

Cannes Film Festival Thursday Night Roundup

Cannes 1

Due to the amfAR Gala, there were no major celebs or L’Oreal girls attending premieres last night.

Here is a quick roundup.

Frédérique Bel: The French actress attended the ‘Jimmy’s Hall’ premiere wearing a head-to-toe Christian Dior look featuring a Spring 2014 metallic embroidered strapless dress.

Suzanne Clément: The actress attended the ‘Mommy’ premiere wearing a black long-sleeved Maxime Simoëns Fall 2014 side-slit gown embellished with a degradé pattern of sparkling embroideries. I love the styling, featuring sculpted waves, diamond drop earrings, and a deep red pout.

amfAR Cinema Against Aids Gala Red Carpet Roundup

amfAR Cinema Against Aids Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of some of the other attendees at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France this evening (May 22).

Toni Garrn: The model wore an icy silk skirt-and-top combo by Italian brand Redemption Choppers. The liquid-silk top is decorated with metallic needles on the side in an attempt to add an edge to the lingerie-inspired look. Toni styled this to perfection.

Karolína Kurková: Not a red carpet event has gone by where I haven’t loved what the model has worn; sadly, that came to a crashing halt today. Such an uninspiring, unflattering Dior look for a gala – or any – event.

Chanel Iman: The model opted for yet another Reem Acra gown, selecting a gold-draped look which she styled with a gold Jimmy Choo clutch.

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior – ‘L’Homme Qu’On Aimait Trop’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior - 'L'Homme Qu'On Aimait Trop' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Marion Cotillard was back on the red carpet this evening (May 21) for the ‘L’Homme Qu’On Aimait Trop’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.

How do you say ‘this is more like it’ in French?

While the slate-grey pleated Dior strapless dress isn’t blowing my socks off, I’m loving the look from head to toe, which I couldn’t say yesterday – although I do believe that she was more true to her style with yesterday’s look than she has even been.

Dialling down the rebellion, her pretty frock with asymmetrical layers was styled with gold glitter Christian Louboutin ‘Iriza’ pumps.

Working a 60s-inspired bouffant with a braided ponytail and neutral makeup, she completed her look with a Chopard jewels.

Much improved over yesterday, or are you still not diggin’ her style?
