Kate Bosworth In Christian Dior - Art of Elysium Heaven Gala

Kate Bosworth made her first red carpet appearance of 2014 at the Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala held at Skirball Cultural Center on Saturday (January 11) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress wore a Christian Dior Spring 2014 frock for the occasion which I loved on the runway, but I’m not quite feeling that same love on Kate.

Maybe it’s the length of this pale-blue embellished and pleated frock on Kate, or maybe the accessories are a tad bland, but this is just OK for me when I expected it to be great.

A simple ponytail and a hot-red lip rounded out her look.

Pixie Lott In Christian Dior - BRIT Awards Nominations

Pixie Lott joined Laura Whitmore on the red carpet for the 2014 BRIT Awards nominations event hosted at ITV Studios on Thursday (January 9) in London.

The singer – whose style took a bit of a dip at the end of last year with some crazy getups – was back to her best wearing a Christian Dior Fall 2013 strapless dress featuring a black-white-and-pink tweed-print bodice and a rise-and-fall black mini skirt, which she styled with Dior pumps.

This is more like the Pixie I know and love; the look is uber cute without giving you a toothache, plus she didn’t over-style the look on this occasion.

Allison Williams In Christian Dior - 'Girls' Season Three Premiere

Allison Williams joined co-star Lena Dunham on the red carpet for the season three premiere of ‘Girls’ held at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Monday (January 6) in New York City.

The actress wore a dress from one of her go-to designers, Dior, selecting a pale-blue silk-leather-and-satin dress with a bodice decorated with floral appliqués, a pleated skirt and a rise-and-fall hemline.

There is something very Ariel Winter/Lucy Hale about this frock, and what I mean by that is that it feels better suited to a teen Hollywood starlet.

Allison styled her pretty frock with Dior blush pumps, Dior Fine Jewelry ‘Bagatelle’ white-gold-and-diamond earrings and a ‘Bagatelle’ white-gold-and-diamond ring.

A tight bun accented with an ornate jewelled brooch, and a pink lip completed her look.

Most Worn 2013 – Christian Dior's Hoop Skirt

Last year it was a gown which was the most worn look of the year; this time it’s a skirt.

For a while I thought that the red-and-navy Michael Kors Spring 2013 ensemble was going to take this award, but it is the Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2013 hoop skirt featuring a rise-and-fall hemline which takes the prize this year.

Marion Cotillard wore the teal-blue version to the SAG Awards, followed by a trio of celebs wearing the coral version in the space of two weeks. Then Ravshana Kurkova wore a black version to the Moscow Dior show in July before Bollywood beauty Alia Bhatt made this the most-worn look of 2013, bringing the popular coral skirt back to the red carpet at the 2013 Vogue Beauty Awards in Mumbai in August.

Last up was Carice van Houten who gave the black version its final red carpet appearance at the European Film Awards earlier this month.

Is the skirt that major that it deserved seven outings? Who wore it best?

Most Worn Brand 2013 – Dior

This past year, the most ubiquitous brand on the backs of red carpet beauties was none other than Christian Dior. Few celebs could deny trotting out the ultra-famous French label, which has long enchanted with its elegance and, now, its edge, too—especially with designer Raf Simons injecting his experimental and slightly surrealist spin on the latest collections.

A style staple during awards season and a fixture at major to-dos—from the Cannes Film Festival to the Met Gala and countless movie premieres—Dior indeed dominated.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt having three ‘it’ girls as Lady Dior and Miss Dior ambassadors, with Marion Cotillard, Natalie Portman and Jennifer Lawrence unsurprisingly showing off the designer on a continual basis.

Throughout the year, Natalie paraded out a wardrobe full of Dior, especially during the ‘Thor: The Dark World’ promo circuit, remedying any fashion fatigue some may have felt towards her partnership with the brand.

French actress Marion also did Dior proud (well, at least during the first part of the year), as she put her personal touch of elegant panache on her designer exits.

And despite much debate, Jennifer still delivered on some positively memorable Dior moments. She nearly exclusively wore the label throughout the year and at ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ premiere tour.

Other Dior darlings include Cate Blanchett, Emmy Rossum, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Natalia Vodianova, Nicole Kidman and Zhang Ziyi, with even more starlets seated on the front row at the label’s couture and ready-to-wear shows.

Even the guys got in on the action, with handsome fellas including Idris Elba, Liam Hemsworth and Bruce Willis each wearing Dior Homme.

Brand Ambassador of the Year - Marion Cotillard for Christian Dior

French star Marion Cotillard was Christian Dior most lavish representative, with a grand sum of 19 looks to her name over the past 12 months.

The face of Lady Dior, she wears the brand well, gracefully balancing designer Raf Simons’ sophisticated yet still-edgy offerings. Not that she didn’t have competition in the category, with Natalie Portman and Jennifer Lawrence also working the Dior angle—sometimes more successfully than others.

That said, Marion started the year off with a bang, cementing an early spot on the best-dressed list with her risk-taking, citron-yellow couture gown at the 2013 BAFTA Awards that was breathtakingly bold and thereby unforgettable.

More Dior moments at the Met Gala, the Cannes Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival soon followed, with the actress later wrapping up her 2013 designer run at the Marrekech Film Festival.

Rather regrettably for this year’s Dior-Marion match, she wavered as a pristine style steward of the brand, also landing the unfortunate award of Magnifique to Tragique 2013.
