Cannes Film Festival Thursday Night Roundup

Cannes 1

Due to the amfAR Gala, there were no major celebs or L’Oreal girls attending premieres last night.

Here is a quick roundup.

Frédérique Bel: The French actress attended the ‘Jimmy’s Hall’ premiere wearing a head-to-toe Christian Dior look featuring a Spring 2014 metallic embroidered strapless dress.

Suzanne Clément: The actress attended the ‘Mommy’ premiere wearing a black long-sleeved Maxime Simoëns Fall 2014 side-slit gown embellished with a degradé pattern of sparkling embroideries. I love the styling, featuring sculpted waves, diamond drop earrings, and a deep red pout.

amfAR Cinema Against Aids Gala Red Carpet Roundup

amfAR Cinema Against Aids Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of some of the other attendees at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France this evening (May 22).

Toni Garrn: The model wore an icy silk skirt-and-top combo by Italian brand Redemption Choppers. The liquid-silk top is decorated with metallic needles on the side in an attempt to add an edge to the lingerie-inspired look. Toni styled this to perfection.

Karolína Kurková: Not a red carpet event has gone by where I haven’t loved what the model has worn; sadly, that came to a crashing halt today. Such an uninspiring, unflattering Dior look for a gala – or any – event.

Chanel Iman: The model opted for yet another Reem Acra gown, selecting a gold-draped look which she styled with a gold Jimmy Choo clutch.

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior – ‘L’Homme Qu’On Aimait Trop’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior - 'L'Homme Qu'On Aimait Trop' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Marion Cotillard was back on the red carpet this evening (May 21) for the ‘L’Homme Qu’On Aimait Trop’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.

How do you say ‘this is more like it’ in French?

While the slate-grey pleated Dior strapless dress isn’t blowing my socks off, I’m loving the look from head to toe, which I couldn’t say yesterday – although I do believe that she was more true to her style with yesterday’s look than she has even been.

Dialling down the rebellion, her pretty frock with asymmetrical layers was styled with gold glitter Christian Louboutin ‘Iriza’ pumps.

Working a 60s-inspired bouffant with a braided ponytail and neutral makeup, she completed her look with a Chopard jewels.

Much improved over yesterday, or are you still not diggin’ her style?

Ruth Crilly In Christian Dior – ‘The Search’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Ruth Crilly attended ‘The Search’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 21) in Cannes, France.

The model wore a Christian Dior Spring 2014 dress featuring a pale-blue-metallic twisted silk bodice and white calf-length pencil skirt.

While I like the metallic-blue Dior pumps, the red ombre clutch is a head-scratcher. Not only does it dominate the look, but it doesn’t complement it.

Did she just pick it up before she left for the premiere?

You have to try on the clutch before you leave the house… everyone knows that, right?

You may remember that Claire Danes wore this same dress back in January.

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture – ‘Two Days, One Night’ (‘Deux Jours, Une Nuit’) Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Marion Cotillard attended the ‘Two Days, One Night’ (Deux Jours, Une Nuit) premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 20) in Cannes, France.

*Le sigh*… Where do I start?

While I like that she opted for something funkier and an unexpected choice from Christian Dior’s Spring 2014 Couture collection, I am just not a fan of those shoes. That’s two bad pair of shoes in one day.

The white, tiered dress with a rise-and-fall hemline accented with blue sequin embroidery at the back was a great way to shake up her style, but the shoes lack the finesse to complement the look.

Adding yet more funk-appeal, she styled her hair into a 40s-esque updo, with a Chopard diamond-encrusted necklace completing her look.

From the ankle up, or not at all?
