Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Penelope Cruz was the unexpected attendee at the 2012 BAFTA Awards in London this evening.

The Spanish beauty selected an Armani Prive gown in a rich merlot colour which complemented her dark colouring.

Her figure-flattering strapless gown, with a draped detail which wrapped around her waist and cascaded to the floor, was a bold choice on a cold night in London.

I would say I love this look from head to toe, but I’ve never been a fan of Penelope sporting bangs.

I was hoping she would’ve grown them out by now.

Whilst waiting for the Armani Prive Spring 2012 show to start, people around Jessica Chastain started clapping. It wasn’t a slow ‘When are you going to start the show?’ clap, but a congratulatory round of applause.

It later turns out that the Oscar-nominated actress had just received the good news prior to the show.

So the question ‘Who are you wearing?’ has just been made redundant as the actress must surely wear Armani on Oscar night.

I couldn’t be happier considering the actress is a redhead and this Armani Prive S12 collection was made up of mostly green pieces. Perfect combination. No?

At the show she kept her look simple and elegant in true Armani style wearing a black long-sleeve dress with an orange beaded neckline.

You could’ve knocked me down with a feather as the actress was also carrying a clutch.

Cameron Diaz and Jessica were very playful in the front row. Livia Giuggioli was taking pictures of the actresses on their mobile phones. Jessica obviously wanted a picture to commemorate the joyous occasion of being an Oscar-nominated actress.

Cameron looked the best she has all week. Her shorter blonde locks, which many of you have been struggling to like, were finally under control. She also kept her look simple wearing black pants and a black sheer top under an ecru wool coat.

The actress has attended nearly every show this week. She is in town to shoot a Couture shoot with InStyle US.

She turned to Roberta Armani when the look below took to the runway and said, “OMG, that is so beautiful.”

Oscar dress or option for her InStyle Couture shoot?

We will have to wait and see.

Even with a celeb-filled front row, I was totally entranced by the Armani Prive Spring 2012 collection.
Each piece was timeless and elegant, but done in a futuristic, chic way.

Green was the colour du jour, with every shade in the green family on display, from lime to chartreuse to forest green. It is an unlikely colour to base a full collection on, but it worked as the green goddesses took to the runway in slinky bedazzling gowns, one-shoulder cocktail dresses, peak-shouldered jackets paired with sleek pants or swirled skirts and dresses with a black satin bodice and tea-length skirt.

The highlights were the models who took to the runway wearing extravagant ball gowns with jewel bodices and snakeskin-print skirts. I also loved the strapless gowns with Swarovski crystal net jackets slung over the models’ shoulders.

One model looked like an otherworldly sea creature that had risen from the sea with a green algae-like bolero. We all craned our necks to get a closer look at this spectacular piece. Read more…

Glenn Close joined Mia Wasikowska on the red carpet in New York City last night for the screening of ‘Albert Nobbs’ which was held at the Modern Museum of Art.

The actress wore an Armani Prive Fall 2011 suit.

Glenn’s suit is slightly different to the look presented on the runway.

The runway look is velvet, whereas she opted for a crepe suit with a slightly different Japanese print on the sleeves and jacket opening.

She also opted for longer pants and black peep-toes.

Beautifully coiffed hair and dangling pearl earrings completed her look.

The Armani Hotel Milano opening took place in Italy tonight with Jessica Alba on hand to help celebrate the grand occasion.

Some of you may think I’ve been harsh on Jessica, but that’s because I knew she had this in her.

The actress looked stunning on the red carpet at the event wearing Armani Privé.

Her look consisted of a spaghetti strap velvet top paired with a crepe skirt which has a floral Japanese print on the hemline.

Talk about a 180 degree turnaround; she’s almost unrecognisable from the girl attending the recent Versace for H&M and Ralph Lauren events.

She’s a total glamazon here and she knows it. Confidence is oozing from her every pore and she looks genuinely happy to be there.

A wavy chic bun, bronzed cat eyes, nude lips, a gorgeous floral embellished clutch and black pumps completed her look.

I just wanted to point out in that what may appear to be a tanline, is actually a nude panel which holds the back and the front of the top together.
