Solange Knowles has been revealed as the face of Madewell’s Fall 2012 ad campaign, ‘Mix Well. Madewell’.

The premise of the campaign is in the title as the brand encourages us to mix things up by styling boyfriend jeans with colourful pumps, yellow in this case – not surprisingly as this is Solange’s favourite colour.

Also featured in the video are denim jackets, sweaters, a cardigan with stripes, a printed frock, a colourful geometric-print top, and a polka-dot blazer which is paired with light denim shirt for an interesting combo.

We’ve loved Solange for her mix-and-match style, so it’s no wonder Madewell snapped her up as their ambassador for this campaign.

I don’t know about you, but after watching that video, I have several pieces on my want list starting with that polka-dot blazer.

Solange Knowles was at No. 8 in New York City last night where INC International Concepts unveiled Camila Alves as their new Brand Ambassador.

The DJ wore a Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2013 printed look which consisted of a wide-sleeved jacket and a short skirt.

Taking the pink-and-yellow print of her ensemble into consideration, Solange teamed her look with a gorgeous pair of Balenciaga two-tone Fall 2008 shoes.

Solange continues to give Olivia Palermo a run for her money in the accessories department as these shoes couldn’t be more fabulous.

Those Miu Miu sunglasses have suddenly become popular.

Solange Knowles was spotted wearing the gold glitter version of the cat-eye shades as she made her way to a recording studio in New York City yesterday to visit her sister Beyonce Knowles.

Adding her usual touch of bright colours to the streets of Manhattan, the stylish DJ teamed a beautiful striped J. Crew skirt with a simple tee and vintage denim vest.

To complete the bohemian feel to her look she carried a striped circular raffia Kate Spade New York ‘Rwanda’ tote and sported tan Ralph Lauren ‘Sherene’ leather sandals.

Solange mysteriously quit Instagram yesterday, but fear not – you can catch her amazing pictures on her blog MyDamnBlog.

When it comes to bright colours, no one works it better than Solange Knowles.

The DJ was at the Trident Layers Stand, Terminal 5 in New York City for the live performance of ‘See What Unfolds’ yesterday evening.

She wore an electric floral print Roberto Cavalli Spring 2012 jacket with simple black separates.

The key to Solange pulling off this look was to let the jacket do all the talking, but even her hot-pink CC Skye Niki clutch perfectly complements rather than overwhelms her look.

Pierre Hardy plastic strap sandals, which the star has first wore on the red carpet back in 2008, and I light pink lip colour completed this look which I’m mildly obsessed with.

I have been excited to learn that many of you are crushing on Solange Knowles’ style too.

She showcases her quirky and individual style for Glamour France for their July 2012 issue.

The DJ rocks her signature larger-than-life afro in her 80s-influenced editorial where we also get to see her wearing a Louis Vuitton scarf as a turban.

In her editorial we see Solange sports statement sunglasses, a tailored Just Cavalli blazer, a tie-dye Ralph Lauren denim jacket, a printed DVF jumpsuit, a Diesel Black Gold metallic jacket, the pink Acne dress I have been crushing on for a long while, a paisley-print Jil Sander skirt, and many other brightly coloured pieces. A boombox is also added into the mix.

Check out the amazing editorial below.

Here are some translated extracts from her interview.

On the secret to her style: [My style is] very eclectic as I like to take risks, but I always cling to glamourous touches and classic details. I’m not necessarily inspired by magazines or fashion. I surf a lot on blogs and find it cool to see real style from real people. My travels also influence me. I always take lots of pictures, and then inject all those inspirations into my wardrobe, my home decor, or my makeup. And we can’t forget the icons: Diana Ross, Erykah Badu, Bjork, and Lauryn Hill. Many designers simply shoot a straightforward lookbook for their Resort collections, so Stella McCartney took the opportunity to throw the perfect summertime garden party, held in New York City on Monday afternoon.

Fashion journalists and buyers mingled with celebrities at the fun-filled fête, enjoying nostalgic summer festivities including boardwalk games, croquet, caramel apples and even a classic lemonade stand.

Solange Knowles brought her son, Daniel Julez Smith, jr., along for the fun and fashion. The youngster represented his mum’s favourite colour, yellow.

The DJ wore a paisley-print Stella McCartney Spring 2012 dress with black strappy sandals, a black clutch plus an chain accented armlet.

Anne Hathaway also joined in the fun. Showcasing her new pixie cut the actress wore a chic ivory suit and rocker t-shirt. She accessorized with nude pumps, an orange necklace, a black clutch and black Ray-Ban ‘Legend Collection Wayfarer’ sunglasses.

Bono was the unexpected guest attending Stella’s Resort 2012 party, but this year it was Jim Carrey who took over the ‘surprise guest’ role on Monday.

Despite the star-studded scene, all eyes were on the models floating around the garden showing off Stella McCartney’s Resort 2013 collection.

The collection includes the perfectly tailored silhouettes that we’ve come to expect from Stella, in an array of colours, including cornflower blue, marigold yellow and a dreamy coral.

Lace summer dresses,  leopard print pieces provide a youthful touch to the collection, alongside vintage-inspired plaid and sunny florals.

Accessories include neon espadrilles, faux leather sandals, bags and metallic clutches.
