Red Carpet Fashion Awards

In Madrid this week the stars came out to celebrate the launch of the new Mango collection.

Scarlett Johansson may have been the “major” star at the event, but it was Monica Cruz who stole she show wearing a longer version of the Herve Leger Fall 2009 dress we’ve seen on Miley Cyrus and Julia Stegner.

Penelope’s kid sister paired her dazzling dress with suede Louboutin peep-toes.

Ana Locking wore a beautifully structured grey dress from her own Fall 2009 collection with both the grey tights and shoe boots they were presented with.

Scarlett Johansson continues to lose her sparkle for me.

I understand she has to promote Mango, but does she have to look like Miss Moneypenny every time?

Surely the could have dressed her in something more interesting and less secretarial.

Every time she promotes Mango it’s like groundhog day.

Dree Hemingway has to be one of the coolest chicks on the planet behind Erin Wasson.

On most those half denim-half leather pants from Mango’s Fall 2009 collection would be a total disaster, but Drew makes them look cool.

Despite that I will never consider trying this look.

Spanish actress Lola Marceli and Clara Courel arrived at this event wearing the same navy Mango sequin mini dress with a sheer mesh back.

They’re even both wearing Louboutin’s.

Let’s hope they weren’t sitting next to each other during the presentation.

Elisabeth Reyes, Maria Jose Suarez and Priscila de Gustin all wore black Mango dresses, but thankfully they were not the same.

The one that stands out is Priscila’s Mango metallic sequin one shoulder dress which she wore with thigh-high boots.

Idoia Montero and Amaia Montero also both wore black, but Amaia added a pop of pink via her heels with her Mango sequin one shoulder dress.

You can see a few images from the Mango Spring 2010 presentation below. It inspiration appears to be military meets ‘Little House on the Prairie’.

Very cute.

“Astro Boy” Los Angeles Premiere

Kristen Bell’s Oscar de la Renta Resort 2010 navy blue and white embroidered dress works very well because she has kept accessories to a minimum.

She teamed her dress with a pair of simple cut-out heels.

30th Annual Salute To Women In Sports Awards, New York

Laila Ali is defying the myth that sportswomen can’t look elegant and feminine on the red carpet, by wearing a breath-taking raspberry silk chiffon one shoulder Tadashi Shoji gown with floral strap detail.

‘Up In The Air’ Premiere, London Film Festival

I always wondered how this Alberta Ferretti Fall 2009 chartreuse gown with a black beaded embroidered overlay would look on the red carpet.

Natascha McElhone keeps the look very simple, yet I just can’t fall in love with this look as stunning as the detail is.

Rag & Bone Soho Store Opening, New York

Sienna Miller wore a Rag & Bone ensemble including grey shorts, cropped jacket and shoe-boots to the Rag & Bone SoHo store opening.

Even when she dresses down still looks gorgeous.

L’Oreal Paris Recieves Friend Of The Walk Of Fame Award, LA

Actresses Eva Longoria Parker, Andie MacDowell and Kate del Castillo attended this event as the ambassadors of L’Oreal.

Eva wore a two tone grey Nicole Miller Studio One tweed pencil dress with an asymmetrical neckline, whilst Andie was divine in a printed dress.

Kate was equally chic in a black chiffon top and wide-legged white pants.

Samantha Thavasa Special Meet And Greet With Beyonce, Tokyo

After her last trip to Japan back in August Beyonce Knowles returned sans Solange to promote her Samantha Thavasa bags.

The singer wore a Roberto Cavalli ultra mini dress, paired with Rock & Republic Celina heels

Moet & Chandon “Tribute To Cinema”, Japan

Scarlett Johansson maybe wearing a vintage Haute Couture Givenchy gown and Christian Dior heels, but I just can’t raise a smile whilst for this look.

Couples Retreat Photocall, London

Malin Akerman wore a cute satin animal print Temperley London Resort 2010 dress, which was draped around the hips to add some texture and volume.

Black pumps complete the look.

Kristen Bell’s 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2010 lace dress has to be my least favourite of her “Couples Retreat” promotional tour.

The actress tried to punch up look with a fiery pair of red heels, but it wasn’t enough for me to like this look.

GNC for QuickTrim Launch, LA

Kim Kardashian looked fabulous wearing an Alexander Wang Tailored Metal-Stud Jacket paired with a simple white tee and black LnA Olivia knit ruched leggings.

She also added some YSL Divine ankle boots to her look, which have suddenly become very popular.

Khloe Kardashian opted for a green and black Myne sweet-heart neckline dress, which she paired with a large Chanel belt, a selection of bangles and black platform ankle boots.

Madison & Diavolina Launch Party, LA

Mandy Moore’s red and multi-coloured printed silk dress reminds me of the same gorgeous print used in the Isabel Marant Fall 2009 presentation.

She looks so beautiful here.

“Bye Bye Birdie” Broadway Opening Night After Party, New York

Gina Gershon wore an Azzaro by Vanessa Seward jumpsuit with a thigh-high split.

With a black fur shrug, Fred Leighton jewels and roses in her hair the look was complete.

OMEGA Constellation 2009, London

Cindy Crawford showed off her endless legs wearing a black Alexander Wang hooded goddess dress and multi-strap heels.

The supermodel added some glitzy jewelery to dazzling us with this sexy look.

MANGO Winter 2009/10 Photocall, Germany

Scarlett Johansson wasn’t sexy quite as sexy as Cindy.  Her look was more secretary chic.

The actress wore a pussy-bow blouse and beige pencil skirt from Mango’s Fall 2009 collection.

FusionBeauty’s New InFatuation Lip Gloss Launch Party, LA

Kim Kardashian wore her YSL Divine ankle boots again when she attended this event.

This time she paired it with a silver sequined jacket, a white tee and a black mini skirt.

Vogue Australia 50th Anniversary Dinner, Syndey

Unfortunately we didn’t get any dramatic looks, no picks from our Red Carpet Wish lists and no couture from Cate Blanchett at this event, but regardless it’s always a treat to see her on the red carpet.

She looks outstanding wearing a burnt orange long sleeved vintage Ossie Clark gown with an ivory necklace.

“A Streetcar Named Desire” Press Night, London

Rachel Weisz wore an animal print Isabel Marant Fall 2009 sheer with black peep-toes accented with a gold floral detail.

Although I’m not crazy about the detail on her shoes, I adore her dress, even though it’s showing us her bra.

Isabel Marant make such fabulous pieces.  I hope we see more celebrities wearing their pieces in future.

Out & About, Berlin

Even when she’s out shopping in Berlin, Diane Kruger is still incredibly stylish.

The German actress wore a Stella McCartney Resort 2010 ensemble which included a yellow tank top she wore off-the-shoulder, with a blue striped tulip skirt.

She added flats and a white Chanel quilted bag to complete her ‘off-duty’ look.

I adore her skirt. Another piece added to my never-ending wish list.

X-Games “Red Bull Toasted” Honors Action Sports Icon Travis Pastrana, LA

A LBD as short and tight as this can go so wrong, but I think Audrina Patridge looks amazing in this Michelle Mason Spring 2009 dress.

She’s starting to come into her own now that she’s no longer in Lauren’s shadow.

“Taking Woodstock” New York Premiere

With her long wavy hair falling down her shoulders, Claire Danes wore a blue silk Sonia Rykiel Resort 2010 wrap dress with delicate ruffles.

Her dress is longer than the runway version, which I can’t say I’m surprised about considering we’re talking about Claire Danes.

In keeping with her usual simple style, she only added a platinum bracelet and strappy heels to complete her look.

Lynn Collins has finally been weened off wearing top hats to every red carpet appearance, but she’s replaced that look with a headband.

Wearing a Kova & T green mini dress and nude Brian Atwood Katie Bis sandals I would say her look was great had it not been for the over excessive bronzing.

Dolce & Gabbana: The Make Up Selfridges Launch, London

So now all those Scarlett Johansson posters in Selfridges yesterday make sense, they were prepping for Scarlett’s Dolce & Gabbana make-up launch.

The actress looked very sophisticated and refined in her Dolce & Gabbana ensemble. I especially love her floral flutter sleeve blouse and orange sorbet peep-toes, but I’m still struggling with the hair.

I do usually love Scarlett wearing bold red lips, but I don’t think it quite works with her ensemble.

“JLo for Yamamay” Collection Launch, Rome

Jennifer Lopez was in Rome yesterday to promote her new underwear collection.

The actress wore an ivory chiffon gown with an embellished neckline and a matching Alaia waist belt.

She carried a glittering silver Swarovski clutch which sparkled like her jeweled T-bar sandals.

Her locks were have been lighten with some blonde streaks which I’m not particularly fond of.

How many of you feel like you have seen this look many times before?

Mont Blanc, Austria

Dita von Teese wore a traditional Austrian dirndl while at the Mont Blanc boutique in Salzburg.

It would’ve been great if she’d changed her hairstyle just this once to really get into the spirit of things.

2009 Salzburg Festival – ‘Welcome to Nowhere’ Premiere, Austria

This is the Dita von Teese we’re most used to seeing, looking glamorous wearing a Moschino cream tiered plisse chiffon gown.

AMC Cocktail Reception, LA

Christina Hendricks strikes a stunning pose wearing a emerald Catherine Malandrino pleated empire waist dress with ruffle sleeves.

Gold accessories complete this look.

January Jones wore an interesting sheer Sretsis dress with two diamante bow appliqués to cover her modesty.

I love her hairstyle. Tres chic.

Comic Con Day 3

Since Scarlett Johansson was unveiled as the new face of Mango, her hair has become lighter with each red carpet appearance.

I really don’t like this colour. It’s obviously an in-between colour, so I hopefully she’s returning to blonde soon.

Her cream Dolce & Gabbana shift dress was accented with a black YSL belt.

I like her dress, but I’m not crazy about her Christian Louboutin peep-toes.

Lindsay Price also wore Dolce & Gabbana.

I love her summer fresh floral dress which she wore with a grey belt.

Her look was complete with a turquoise Lucifer Vir Honestus cuff and nude heels.

Emma Stone opted for a casually chic look of jeans and a nude tank top accented with an oversized black bow.
