Sarah Jessica Parker In Elie Saab Couture – ‘It’s Only A Play’ Broadway Opening Night Performance

Sarah Jessica Parker In Elie Saab Couture - 'It's Only A Play' Broadway Opening Night Performance

Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Broadway opening night performance of ‘It’s Only A Play’ held at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Monday (October 9) in New York City.

The actress opted to wear one of her favourite designers, Elie Saab, wearing a beautiful white lace dress embroidered with silk threads and sequins and encrusted in Swarovski crystals from the Fall 2014 Couture collection.

Her dress is stunning as we would expect, but the styling kills me.

I’m assuming her first thought was, what would Carrie do? Wear a contrasting bra which shows through the dress, of course.

What would work for Carrie doesn’t work here; I’m not a fan of dumbing down couture, so the quirky or edgy nature of what she was going for is totally lost on me.

Factor in the tan tights and it’s a no from me.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Sarah Jessica Parker In Mary Katrantzou & Emma Watson In Christian Dior

Best Dressed Of The Week - Sarah Jessica Parker In Mary Katrantzou & Emma Watson In Christian Dior

This week was very strong fashion-wise, so I am not surprised that there was a deadlock.

You couldn’t decide between Sarah Jessica Parker and Emma Watson.

Sarah for her unique, modern take on style at the New York Ballet with her embroidered Mary Katrantzou gown; and Emma who continues to leave us in awe, presenting an event-appropriate, sophisticated, chic look in Christian Dior.

I went for Sarah for the reason above and for not over-accessorizing.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Mary Katrantzou – New York City Ballet 2014 Fall Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker In Mary Katrantzou - New York City Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker attended the New York City Ballet 2014 Fall Gala held at the Lincoln Center on Tuesday (September 23).

The actress wore a dramatic maxi-style Mary Katrantzou Fall 2014 long-sleeved dress richly embroidered, with the contrasting colour panels ensuring an elegant and fluid silhouette.

‎While a big puffy ballgown of the Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen or Herrera variety would’ve been expected, SJP served up this modern work of art.

In my mind I had pictured this on some statuesque beauty like Erin O’Connor; however, the petite actress more than holds her own in this dress, which would’ve overwhelmed most‎.

We all know SJP loves to – at times – over accessorize, but her simply styling was on point on this occasion, especially her decision to sweep her hair back which was accented with a black ribbon.

Despite my excitement about this look, methinks that some might deem this to be not befitting of a ballet gala.

Which side of the fence are you?

Yay or nay?

Who Wore Burberry Prorsum Better…Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse, Olivia Palermo, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley or Sarah Jessica Parker

Five style setters have been sending us a strong signal: ponchos will be big this fall.

Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse donned their monogrammed Burberry Prorsum Fall 2014 poncho immediately after walking the show in February. Suki wrapped her around her moss-green Burberry coat.

Olivia Palermo wore her monogrammed poncho on a photo shoot in New York in July with a checked shirt and chestnut-coloured skort styled with over-the-knee Stuart Weitzman boots, Westward Leaning shades and a CH Carolina Herrera Casati bag.

The gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wearing her RHW Burberry Prorsum poncho in Sydney with dark denim jeans, Louboutin boots and a trendy fedora.

Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted wearing hers just last week over causal separates while doing the school run.

I really love SJP’s effortless styling, however, the chic appeal of Suki’s look won me over.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Tracy Reese & Saint Laurent – 2014 Art Of The Pixel Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker In Tracy Reese & Saint Laurent - 2014 Art Of The Pixel Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker was back on the red carpet for the 2014 Art Of The Pixel Gala held at Gotham Hall on Wednesday (September 17) in New York City.

The actress wore an Tracy Reese Fall 2014 jacquard dress featuring exquisite feathers at the hemline creating a romantic style statement.

Elevating the look, she added an elegant tweed Saint Laurent jacket while contemporizing the outfit with a Chanel fanny pack, Fred Leighton jewels and sleek SJP ‘Vivienne’ black sandals.

Usually there is at least one thing I would like SJP to take off any red carpet look, but that’s not the case on this occasion – even the fanny pack gets a thumbs up here.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Burberry Prorsum – Out In New York City

Sarah Jessica Parker In Burberry Prorsum - Out In New York City

Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted out in New York City yesterday morning (September 17) having dropped her kids off at school.

Wearing simple separates including a striped top and light-grey jeans, it’s her accessories which send this yummy mummy look into chic territory.

The actress styled her look with an SJP monogrammed Burberry Prorsum cashmere poncho, which continues to be a celebrity favourite. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Olivia Palermo and Suki Waterhouse have all been spotted wearing their own monogrammed ponchos.

While most of us save our best handbags for nights out, SJP shows off her tri-tone violet Elie Saab ‘Poincare’ handbag on the school run.

Chic from head to toe?
