Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Rooney Mara In Alexander McQueen - 'Side Effects' New York Premiere

Rooney Mara attended the New York premiere of ‘Side Effects’ held at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City yesterday evening.

The actress wore an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2013 dress, which is our first look at this collection on the red carpet.

Opting to keep the styling simple, Rooney wore nude Nicholas Kirkwood peep-toes with her ivory panelled velvet and macramé cape dress.

There is a strong possibility that Rooney would’ve made the black belt work, but I love her softer presentation of this look.

Smoky eyes, a pink lip colour and her signature lacquered centre-parted ponytail hairstyle provided the finishing touches.

Do you wish Rooney had worn the belt with this look?

Rooney Mara was another celebrity who attended the Dubai Cares and Oxfam ‘One Night Lives’ Charity Gala at the Armani Hotel in Dubai on Friday.

The ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ actress often experiments on the red carpet, and this occasion was no different.

She wore a custom-made black sleeveless Calvin Klein sheer dress with a lacquered silk skirt, sculptural detail on the bust and a thick waistband.

While the look is definitely risky, Rooney pulled it off by keeping her hair tightly pulled back and pairing the dress with simple, strappy Givenchy heels.

The finished look was part dominatrix, part runway model — and full on fabulous.

This November marks the 40th anniversary of W magazine and the start of a year long celebration of their rich history of storytelling through fashion photography.

The oversized November anniversary issue, which hits national newsstands on October 23, features Keira Knightley, Mia Wasikowska, Rooney Mara and Scarlett Johansson who were transformed into an iconic look from the past four decades for each of their covers which were shot by Steven Klein.

Keira channels the 00s wearing a Chanel tweed jacket, red hot lips and a platinum blonde Tilda Swinton-esqe do.

Wearing a flame-coloured wig and striking eye makeup, Mia channels the 80s donning a Balenciaga dress with colourful Solange Azagury-Partridge statement earrings.

Sporting a bob hairdo, Rooney channels the 70s wearing Prada and an Albertus Swanepoel hat.

Even with the nose ring and two-tone hair, Scarlett still oozes sex appeal wearing Dolce & Gabbana and red hot lips for her 90s cover.

Rooney Mara gave us no surprises on the red carpet as she posed for photographers at the 2012 Met Gala, held on Monday night in New York City.

Despite being seen shooting scenes for a new movie sporting lighter locks, the actress appears to have dyed the front of her hair a dark colour to give us the dark, moody glamour we have come to expect from her.

She wore a Givenchy Couture black asymmetrical one-sleeve lace dress with laser-cut leather details which was accented with a black leather belt.

A slicked-back bun, a dark pink lip shade, and black Givenchy sandals completed her look.

Here we have a WWIB poll with three celebs wearing the same dress in different colours.

First up, Rooney Mara who, on a rare occasion, broke out of her all-black sombre looks to shine on the red carpet wearing a Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 green sleeveless dress to the 27th Annual Santa Barbara Film Festival Virtuosos Awards.

She wore her cute dress with Giambattista Valli heels, keeping the rest of the look clean and fresh by simply pulling her short hair back into a low ponytail.

Dianna Agron wore the black version of the dress when she attended the Louis Vuitton Fall 2012 presentation during Paris Fashion Week.

She kept the look interesting by adding a green choker. The rest of her accessories included a sparkly black clutch, black tights and sparkled-cap Louis Vuitton heels.

Reese Witherspoon was the only one to belt her Louis Vuitton dress when she took to the red carpet in Brazil for the premiere of her latest movie, ‘This Means War’.

The blonde beauty also added a statement necklace and completed her look with Jimmy Choo ‘Greta’ sandals.

You’ll be surprised to know that Dianna wins for me.

I loved the colours of both Rooney and Reese, but I didn’t like Rooney’s makeup and I didn’t like how Reese styled her dress.

Dianna’s chic accessories won me over.

With a busy schedule promoting ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’, we didn’t see much of Rooney Mara during awards season.

My favourite look was easy; Nina Ricci followed by J. Mendel.
