Cheryl Cole In Zuhair Murad – ‘Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy Of A Plains Indian)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Like Fan Bingbing on Wednesday, Cheryl Cole broke a long standing Cannes Film Festival tradition this evening at the ‘Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian)’ premiere.

The UK star, who usually only makes one appearance during this festival, opted not to wear Stéphane Rolland as expected; instead she wore a Zuhair Murad Fall 2013 gown.

Honestly, I’m not that surprised considering I failed to picture any of the looks from the recent Stéphane Rolland Spring 2013 Couture working for the petite singer.

This rich maroon sheer long-sleeve gown with beaded embellishments is more fitting to her Cannes glam style, with a sexy bouffant with a loose braid completing her look.

Last year the L’Oreal girls worked bold colours on the red carpet, however, this year it appears to be all about a more natural look.

Did Cheryl make the right gown choice?

Jennifer Lawrence In Christian Dior – ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Jennifer Lawrence kick started, what I hope will be another epic promo tour for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ this afternoon, by attending a photocall for the anticipated movie during Cannes Film Festival.

The actress of course wore Dior, but I don’t find myself hitting the snooze button on this look from the Fall 2013 collection.

Her mostly all-black look features a wool crochet bustier with a slightly deflated ruffled detail and smart tapered pants.

The coral pumps are what really save this look and I’m delighted that her hair and makeup are flawless.

We all know she’s going to wear Dior tonight; so which look would you like to see her wear?

Carina Lau In Elie Saab Couture – ‘Bends’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Carina Lau attended the photocall for ‘Bends’ during Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals in France this afternoon.

The Asian actress, who I love for her daring fashion choices, opted for an Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture look on this occasion.

While there is nothing daring about this particular choice, her lilac long-sleeve dress with an embellished pattern is Cannes photocall appropriate, even though I wish she’d taken the hem up a few inches.

Silver jewels and lace ankle-strap shoes which matched her dress completed her lady-like look.

Naomie Harris In Monique Lhuillier – Finch’s Quarterly Review Filmmakers Dinner

Naomie Harris attended the Finch’s Quarterly Review Filmmakers Dinner at Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc during the Cannes Film Festival yesterday.

The British actress wore a bright pink Monique Lhuillier gown from the Resort 2013 collection.

While this dress is perfectly lovely, and Naomie is beautiful, the stying is underwhelming.

Perhaps a bright fuchsia lip, similar to the one seen on the runway model, or even a brightly colored pair of statement earrings would have livened things up a bit.

Somehow the whole thing just feels too safe and muted for the lovely actress.

Solange Knowles In Roberto Cavalli – Belvedere Vodka ‘Walks Its Way’ Run D.M.C. Party

Solange Knowles made her second appearance during the 2013 Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening by attending the Belvedere Vodka ‘Walks Its Way’ Run D.M.C. at the VIP Room nightclub.

Unlike her look at ‘The Great Gatsby’ premiere, which failed to wow so of us, I love how she’s rocking this fluid Roberto Cavalli Spring 2013 pantsuit.

By wearing the suit exactly the way it came down the runway, Solange took out any guesswork and made the perfect cool-but-elegant fashion statement.

Her emerald-hued Vionnet clutch was the perfect bag choice, and her matching coral lips and nails were the perfect color for the beauty side of her ensemble.

You may remember that Karolina Kurkova wore this same Cavalli blazer back in March.

Paz Vega In Elie Saab – Finch’s Quarterly Review Filmmakers Dinner

Paz Vega looked lovely and demure at the Finch’s Quarterly Review Filmmakers Dinner at Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc during the Cannes Film Festival yesterday.

The actress wore a long-sleeved lace Elie Saab Fall 2013 dress.

Her below-the-knee dress was appropriate for a dinner event, but the beading and lace give it the elegance it needs for an appearance at Cannes.

The nude pumps are the perfect shoe for the dress–a strappy black sandal would have seemed an obvious choice, but that would have distracted from the delicacy of the dress.

Paz’s auburn-hued ombré hair is deeply parted and curled into soft waves–basically hitting four hair trends at once–and is a stunning and sultry finish to her perfect look.
