Front Row @ NYFW Weekend Catch Up

Front Row @ NYFW Weekend Catch Up

Here’s a quick catch up of the front row who caught my eye during New York Fashion Week this weekend.

Ciara @ Prabal Gurung: The singer wore a pretty Prabal Gurung embroidered angular insert dress with a flared silhouette styled with bondage boots courtesy of Casadei, which were presented during the designer’s Fall 2013 collection.

Solange Knowles @ Alexander Wang: What’s not to love about Solange’s outfit? The colour, the quirky glasses, the Wang Resort 2014 skirt, that bag and those sexy sandals…? Perhaps it shouldn’t, but it ALL works.

Rihanna @ Opening Ceremony: It’s been a while since we saw Rihanna front row at NYFW, as she tends to skip the shows and head to the after-parties. On Sunday she was front and centre at Opening Ceremony wearing a grey Zac Posen satin floral dress with Underground ‘Wulfrun’ creepers with a Lynn Ban choker. A part of me wants to say it’s ridiculous to pair such a pretty dress with creepers, but I have to say she sells it to me, as per.

Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week Front Row – Day 2

Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week Front Row – Day 2

With New York Fashion Week fully under way, the FROW regulars are coming out to play. Here, a look at yesterday’s statement-making starlets in the chic seats at the Spring 2014 shows.

Ashley Madekwe @ Cushnie et Ochs: The ‘Revenge’ actress made waves at the Cushnie et Ochs presentation at Milk Studios in a fiery red-orange frock from the label, which is immediately recognizable for the cutout detail. The peekaboo double-slash through the center of the dress has sultriness and edge without being try-hard or distracting. The same goes for her effortless styling, including a swept-back ‘do, minimal makeup and a barely-there pair of black, skinny strap Saint Laurent sandals.

Taylor Momsen @ Helmut Lang: Wearing her go-to colour—black—the actress-cum-singer covered up in a Helmut Lang sweater-and-skirt ensemble at the brand’s show. The knee-high lace-up boots, not to mention her bed-head platinum waves and red under-eye shadow, which replaced her favoured smokey, raccoon eyes, added the rocker-rebel vibe that currently defines her style.

Solange Knowles @ Noon By Noor: Giving us one of the more spirited looks of the day, the songstress naturally wore a printed ensemble from the Noon By Noor Resort 2014 collection, when she attended the young brand’s show, held at The Studio at Lincoln Center. The playful palm-tree blazer and wide trouser shorts, mixed with the embroidered flamingos on the blue shirt, had a retro, fun flair only boosted by Sophia Webster’s pink-edged ‘Leilou’ T-strap sandals, which she wore with black socks.

Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week Front Row – Day 1

Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week FROW - Day 1

Here is a quick roundup of the notable attendees who took their front-row seats during Day 1 of Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week.

Zosia Mamet @ Honor: Still not able to crack a smile, the ‘Girls’ actress who has worn many Honor pieces on the red carpet opted for this pretty pink jacquard racer-front mini dress styled with red-and-white Tabitha Simmons for Honor pointy flats. Not one to usually wear much makeup, I love the pink lip colour here, but her overall styling – not surprisingly – is off.

Patrina Miller @ Tadashi Shoji: The Broadway star was probably picking out her next Tony Awards gown, taking her seat wearing a lovely red embroidered lace cocktail dress from Tadashi Shoji’s Spring 2013 collection.

Olivia Palermo @ BCBG Max Azria: The socialite and FROW regular doesn’t always play the ‘wear pieces from the designer show I’m attending’ game but she did so on this occasion, wearing a BCBG white-and-nude draped long-sleeved Resort 2014 dress with her favourite summer accessories, including the Aquazzura ‘Sexy Thing’ booties, Ray-bans and her crochet Gerard Darel bag, and eclectic jewels including the Lulu Frost necklace I had on my Must-Have Monday post a few weeks back.

Olivia Palermo In Christian Dior – Vogue Australia Shoot

Olivia Palermo In Christian Dior - Vogue Australia Shoot

Olivia Palermo was spotted with the Vogue Australia styling team, who were prepping the brunette beauty for a shoot at Sydney Harbour, Australia yesterday afternoon.

Just one of the many looks they tried with the starlet was a Christian Dior Fall 2013 black skirt with a draped detail falling from the hip, which we saw on Jennifer Hudson on Sunday at the VMAs.

From this picture and the ones appearing on Vogue Australia’s Instagram, it appears that they are giving Olivia a natural look, not stepping too far outside the fashionista’s comfort zone; however, they did add extensions to her shoulder-length hair, teasing it into a messy braid.

Olivia Palermo In ASOS – Out In New York City

Olivia Palermo In ASOS - Out In New York City

Olivia Palermo was out in New York City yesterday afternoon doing what she does best – look fabulous.

Mixing high-end with high street, as she does so well, she wore a pretty paisley-print ASOS skater dress with soft swing pleats, which she styled with a black leather studded H&M belt to dial down the sweetness of the look.

The rest of her accessories included her favourite berry Louis Vuitton bag, snakeskin Pretty Ballerina flats, a gold cuff and reflective Westward Leaning ‘Color Revolution’ shades.

You thought she over-accessorized her last look, so does she get the balance right on this occasion?

Olivia Palermo In Tibi – Mykonos Vacation

Olivia Palermo In Tibi - Mykonos Vacation

Olivia Palermo was leading the fashion pack, which included her boyfriend, model Johannes Huebl, and Valentino Garavani as they explored the Greek island of Mykonos on Thursday.

The socialite wore a summer-chic look from the Tibi Resort 2013 collection mixed with some colourful accessories which enhanced her look.

A haltered bright-orange top was paired with black-and-white variegated striped high-waisted comfy knit shorts, but the magic really happens with the studded belt, Pretty Ballerinas print flats and wrap-around necklace with the neon-yellow and pink tassels.

The look was completed with Westward Leaning shades and her trusty Gerard Darel ‘Woodstock’ 24-Hour raffia bag.

Should she have taken one thing off, or does the look work perfectly as she’s presented it?
