Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I do love a blast from the past, and that is exactly what Nikki Reed gave us when she stepped out onto the red carpet for ‘The Scenemakers’ celebrated by Express And Vogue at the Chateau Marmont in LA yesterday evening.

The ‘Twilight’ star wore a Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2008 dress, from one of my favourite collections from the designers.

Her floral-painted dress with ¾-length sleeves has been shortened from the runway version for a more youthful flare.

Nikki’s Stuart Weitzman ankle-strap pumps wouldn’t have worked for this look, so we will have to wait for another opportunity to see her wearing her co-designed heels on the runway.

On this occasion she wore Jerome C. Rousseau ‘Aizza’ cream patent leather pumps.

Long, wavy tresses and a silver bracelet completed her look.

Nikki Reed is fast becoming a red-carpet favourite thanks to Hollywood power stylist Jessica Paster.

The ‘Twilight’ star attended the Do Something Awards in Santa Monica last week looking completely on trend beauty-wise with strong natural eyebrows and nude lips.

Hair stylist Mara Roszak, whose clients include Emma Stone, Mila Kunis and Zoe Saldana, gave us the lowdown on how she achieved Nikki’s beachy chignon.

“Dry the hair and part in the middle. Then spray Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray all over the hair, twist the front sections on both sides and pin in place. This adds a nice texture to the hair.

“Let the hair dry with the Surf Spray in it, then, to add a bit more fluff and texture I also used Serge Normant Meta Revive Dry Shampoo all over.

“Next, pull the remaining hair low to one side, twist into a loose bun shape and pin in place. Twist in the front sections, allow a few pieces to fall out around the face and pull the rest back into the bun and pin up.

“Finally, spray all over with Elnett hairspray.”

Nikki Reed joined her ‘Twilight’ co-star Ashley Greene on the red carpet for the 2012 Do Something Awards in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday.

She kept her look chic and simple wearing a Lela Rose Resort 2013 textured dress with light pleated details and a knee-high slit.

I love the metal silver waistband added to her taupe dress to give the sleeveless frock a little bit more definition around the waist.

Further metal accents were added to her dress in the form of a Lena Erziak ‘Charles’ clutch, rings, studded earrings and glitter-coated Jimmy Choo ‘Sierra’ sandals.

She finished off her look with a centre-parted low bun, with pieces framing her face and beautiful neutral makeup.

Nikki was one of my favourites at this event, plus she’s becoming a favourite all-round.

Shenae Grimes: The ‘90210’ star known for her laidback approach to fashion wore a soft pink lace tee which she styled with an edgy high-waisted leather skirt and black blazer. Her accessories included a statement necklace and black Jerome C. Rousseau ‘Orner’ strappy platform sandals.

Nikki Reed: I fell in love with the ‘Twilight’ star’s girlie-with-an-edge look. The hot pink Loft ‘Live in Pink’ flounce mini dress was perfectly styled with a black leather jacket, strappy sandals and a gold-accented clutch.

Jennie Garth: The ‘90210’ actress couldn’t have picked a more summer party-perfect look. Jennie opted to keep her look 100% sweet by styling her pink, peach and neon yellow dress with nude accessories and soft curly locks.

Brittany Snow: The ‘Pitch Perfect’ actress opted for a totally different look to the other attendees. I love her metallic-print skinny Loft pants, which were styled with a silky cream Loft blouse and a Giuliana Rancic for Loft pave crystal link necklace. She gets a thumbs-up for the red clutch, but I’m not so sure about the red-wine peep-toes.

Here are the rest of the looks from InStyle’s Summer Soiree, which took place at The London Hotel in West Hollywood last night.

Emilie De Ravin: The Australian actress wore a pretty blue lace dress by the Australian brand Zimmermann. Whilst her dress was full of the joys of summer, her navy-blue t-bar sandals feel a bit heavy and fall-like. I’m also not sure I’m used to her as a brunette; I think I prefer her as a blonde.

Nikki Reed: Each time the ‘Twilight’ actress gives me a look I love, she then puts things in reverse. Her black Jill Stuart dress with floral detailing and Alexandra Birman pumps and burgundy Lauren Merkin ‘Grace’ clutch scream ‘Hello Fall’. Great look, wrong season.

Jordana Brewster: The ‘Dallas’ star was the epitome of summer chic wearing a Bec & Bridge white silk ‘Claudia’ dress with laser-cut trim. A grey clutch, taupe Jimmy Choo ‘Trina’ sandals plus Melinda Maria jewels completed the look. Read more…

Nikki Reed attended the Carmen Steffens West Coast Flagship store opening at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, California yesterday evening.

The ‘Twilight’ star wore a McQ Alexander McQueen dark green cable-print ruffle dress for the occasion.

On this rare occasion I love the look from head-to-toe.

The fringed booties add a fun element to her look, as does her yellow Rebecca Minkoff ‘Spring’ lizard embossed minaudière for a glorious pop of colour.

It’s rare that I get excited about a Nikki Reed red carpet look, but there is a first time for everything.

Luscious waves and a glossy lip colour completed her look.
