Who Wore Michael Kors Better…Cat Deeley, Doutzen Kros, Miroslava Duma, Yasmin le Bon or Nieves Alvarez?

Who Wore Michael Kors Better Cat Deeley, Doutzen Kros, Miroslava Duma, Yasmin le Bon or Nieves Alvarez

The navy-and-blue Michael Kors Spring 2013 look, featuring a crop top and pleated skirt, was so popular it made five appearances on the red carpet.

It was Cat Deeley who kick-started the obsession with this look when she wore it to the ‘Dukes of Melrose’ launch party back in March styled with a Mulberry bag.

A month later, model Doutzen Kros looked considerably more comfortable in her look which she wore to the Michael Kors and the United Nations World Food Programme dinner, styled with black Michael Kors accessories.

Fashion editor Miroslava Duma styled her look with PVC and black pumps at the Michael Kors London dinner party.

Yasmin le Bon wore the look with a longer top while hosting the Vogue Festival with the designer himself, and finally, Nieves Alvarez wore the much worn look to a Johnsons event in Madrid last month with Christian Louboutin boots, which didn’t work with her look.

Doutzen Kros wins for me as I prefer her overall styling. Cat was my least favourite as she looked the least comfortable rocking the crop top.

Nieves Alvarez In Emilio Pucci – ‘Yo Dona’ International Awards 2013

Nieves Alvarez In Emilio Pucci - 'Yo Dona' International Awards 2013

The one person I was excited to see at the ‘Yo Dona’ International Awards 2013 held at Finca La Munoza in Madrid, Spain on Thursday was Nieves Alvarez.

Her Emilio Pucci Spring 2013 gown didn’t quite have the drama of her Stephane Rolland or Ralph & Russo Couture gowns, but I love that her white gold dragon-embroidered gown was perfect for the summer season.

The gold Christian Louboutin accessories and Carrera Y Carrea jewels are perfect for her gown, however, I find the red lips and nails a tad harsh for this white-and-gold look.

You may remember that Poppy Delevingne wore this same Pucci gown in black earlier this year.

Nieves Alvarez In Michael Kors – Johnson’s Baby with Aloe Vera Presentation

Nieves Alvarez In Michael Kors - Johnson's Baby with Aloe Vera Presentation

Earlier today Nieves Alvarez was on hand to help present Johnson’s Baby with Aloe Vera new product at the Eurobuilding Hotel in Madrid, Spain.

The ‘Solo Moda’ host wore a Michael Kors Spring 2013 navy-and-red striped crop top and pleated skirt which she styled with Christian Louboutin cut-out booties – which really give the look an urban edge – and a YSL ‘Arty’ flower ring.

I love that a 39-year-old woman is rocking a crop top with confidence. I won’t feel so bad when – summer permitting – I finally get a chance to wear the two unworn Topshop crop tops I have in my closet.

However, you may remember we’ve seen on Cat Deeley, Doutzen Kroes, Miroslava Duma and Yasmin Le Bon, so I feel slightly fatigued by the look.

There are so many great looks from Michael Kors’ Spring 2013 collection, so I wish she could’ve selected something else.

Are you also fatigued by this look, or is it just as good the fifth time around?

Life Ball 2013

Life Ball 2013 copy

As we’ve seen time and again at the Cannes Film Festival, Roberto Cavalli is a reigning king of the soiree scene. The designer ruled the red carpet again at Saturday’s extravagant 21st Life Ball and its accompanying, exclusive AIDS Solidarity Gala, which was hosted in the Viennese Hofburg Palace in Austria. A trio of Cavalli lovelies were all dressed to impress, naturally.

Karolina Kurkova: After strutting out a memorable, skin-flaunting Roberto Cavalli entrance at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala last week, this supermodel returned to the designer for the Solidarity soiree. Except this time, she arrived with far more fabric on her statuesque frame. Still, with this androgynous, embellished tuxedo statement, she was as sexy as ever. This girl can work a power suit to the max. Her long flowing locks and a look-at-me red lippie gave us even more glam.

Aishwarya Rai: Speaking of glam, the Indian star served it up in spades. As the International Goodwill Ambassador for UNAIDS, she lit up the Life Ball stage with her covetable Cavalli hourglass gown, a long-sleeve, dark navy number that was awash in shimmering mermaid-like scales. A peek-a-boo front slit put another level of sultriness into this exit.

Nieves Alvarez: Usually this Spanish model/TV host’s enviable shoes are her plus-one, but she had a handsome accessory in husband Marco Severini, who joined her at the event. She was a long-and-lean screen siren in her Cavalli red column gown featuring an embossed Byzantine pattern, half-circle cutouts at the neckline and a side slit. Gold accessories accented the look with Nieves’s brand of bold style.
