Who Wore Emilio Pucci Better…Melanie Doutey or Nieves Alvarez?

During the Emilio Pucci Fall 2012 presentation, Peter Dundas sent a model down the runway wearing a houndstooth crystal-embellished chiffon coat, which has hit the red carpet twice as a dress.

First up was French actress Melanie Doutey, who looked sensational wearing the coat as a plunging dress with a central slit to the ‘Therese Desqueyroux’ premiere during the Cannes Film Festival.

The sexy yet chic look was styled with a black clutch and Sergio Rossi ‘Chloris’ sandals.

Nieves Alvarez wore the same coat as a dress to the ‘Escaparate’ Magazine Awards in Seville, Spain back in October.

Her dazzling semi-sheer look was styled with Roger Vivier ankle-cuff sandals, Pandora jewels and a black Swarovski clutch.

Melanie wins for me. The Rossis swung it for me.

Nieves Alvarez In Emilio Pucci – Vogue & Mario Testino December Issue Launch Event

Nieves Alvarez attended the Vogue & Mario Testino December Issue launch event held at the Fernán Núñez Palace in Madrid, Spain yesterday evening.

The Solo Moda host wore an Emilio Pucci Fall 2012 dress.

Her baby-blue long-sleeve dress, with a scooped neckline, sheer panelling and embroidered details, was styled with teal satin Christian Louboutin sandals with a bow accent on the heel, Pandora jewels and an orange Moschino clutch.

I love the dress and her accessories, but I wish she’d done more with her hair.

The dress says Vogue event and the hair says “just popping to the mall”.

You may remember that Olga Kurylenko wore this same dress back in September.

Nieves Alvarez In Giambattista Valli – ‘Monaco Against Autism’ Gala Night

Nieves Alvarez attended the ‘Monaco for Autism’ Gala Night in Monte Carlo, Monaco yesterday evening.

The TV host wore a Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall 2012 raspberry sleeveless gown with a neckline tie detail.

Nieves added gold accessories, including a GBV belt, Gianvito Rossi sandals, Pandora jewels and a black and gold Bulgari clutch, to her look.

A slicked-back bun, smoky eyes and a pink lip colour provided the finishing touches.

Nieves Alvarez In Giambattista Valli, Dsquared², Alex Vidal, Christian Dior, Halston Hertiage & Michael Kors – Solo Moda

Here is a quick rundown of Nieves Alvarez’ Solo Moda looks from the weekend.

Her first look was a Giambattista Valli Fall 2012 printed dress with Giuseppe Zanotti two-tone sandals.

Next up was a vibrant pink Dsquared² Resort 2013 dress styled with gold Mango pumps. I wish they were sandals.

An Alex Vidal Fall 2012 LDB and silver Jimmy Choo ‘Private’ sandals rounded up Saturday’s looks.

On Sunday she started with a Christian Dior Fall 2012 purple dress styled with a gorgeous pair of Jimmy Choo gold ankle-strap sandals.

I prefer Nieves’ Roger Vivier bow-accented ankle-strap sandals to her high-neck, long-sleeve Halston Heritage dress.

The final look was a striking Michael Kors Spring 2012 animal-print dress with black Jimmy Choo shoes.
