Naomi Watts In Versace - 'Diane' World Premiere

Naomi Watts attended the world premiere of ‘Diana’ held at The Odeon Leicester Square in London this evening.

I was hoping for a BDOTY wow moment, yet sadly I feel totally underwhelmed.

Naomi wore a white Versace gown with a Liz Hurley-esque side slit, keyhole detail and asymmetrical neckline – but that’s not the underwhelming part. That has been reserved for the accessories – sans the Chopard jewels, of course.

The black Christian Louboutin ‘Hyper Prive’ peep-toes and black Edie Parker clutch mute the look, plus I am also turned off by the shiny makeup – yes, it was a very mild evening – and the lacklustre hair.

Sorry, but for such a grand occasion I was expecting more. A lot more.

Naomi Watts In Thakoon - 'The Butler' New York Premiere

It was couples night on the red carpet at the Ziegfeld Theater yesterday evening, as Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts joined Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham and Keisha and Forest Whitaker on the red carpet for ‘The Butler’ New York premiere.

Liev and Naomi opted for relaxed looks, with Liev opting for a sleek midnight-blue suit sans tie.

Naomi wore a black Thakoon Resort 2014 jumpsuit featuring a sheer panel styled with black Saint Laurent sandals.

Gold jewels, fuchsia-pink lips and blown-out tresses provided the finishing touches.

I love the simplicity of both looks; even a clutch may have been overkill for Naomi’s look. She played it very well on this occasion.

You can buy Naomi’s Saint Laurent sandals from Saks.com and Nordstrom.

BDOTW 5 Aug

It was a Mary Katrantzou double this week, as you voted for Diane Kruger wearing a look from the designer’s Resort 2014 collection and I picked Naomie Harris in a frock from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection.

I may have gone for Diane, as her dress has more of an interesting shape, but I couldn’t get past the hair.

When it came to the fellas, our choices differed. You selected the handsome Eddie Redmayne in his navy linen suit, while I was more enamoured with the pretty pink suit worn by RuPaul.

Naomi Watts In Alexander McQueen - 'Ray Donovan' LA Premiere

Naomi Watts and her actor beau Liev Schreiber attended Showtime’s new series premiere of ‘Ray Donovan’ held at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles, California yesterday evening.

He opted for a simple midnight-blue suit with an open white shirt.

Naomi wore an Alexander McQueen leather dress.

This is a huge departure from what we are used to seeing from Naomi and, while I always champion celebs stepping out of their comfort zones, I have to say I am not entirely crazy about this look.

My issue with this teardrop-neckline leather dress with a ruffled skirt is that it would’ve been better suited to Kate Moss; Naomi is a bit, dare I say, too vanilla to pull this off, even with the tousled tresses.

I think I would’ve preferred her in the purple suede version of this frock.

Black accessories including a Proenza Schouler ‘Lunch’ clutch, Sergio Rossi ‘Oblo’ sandals and a gold necklace completed her look.

Does this look work for you?

Summer Party On The Highline, Presented By Coach

Last night, a bevy of ‘it-list’ beauties gathered for a carnival-themed Summer Party, presented by Coach, on New York City’s High Line. Here, some of the looks that weren’t all as light and luscious as I was anticipating.

Katie Holmes: The actress-cum-designer kept it cool in a white one-shoulder Chloé Resort 2013 dress, accented with a mauve Coach ‘Madison’ gathered twist clutch, brown Azzedine Alaïa gladiator sandals and black-lacquered nails. The silhouette could have been more flattering, as I don’t love what the gathered dropped waist is doing to her figure at this angle.

Naomi Watts: Pretty in light pink, Naomi wore a loose, button-down See by Chloé shirtdress with white Bruno Magli sandals. Her metallic-accented, leopard-print sunnies added some of the pop I was originally seeking. A Coach Poppy Mirror metallic flight bag completed her look.

Connie Britton: The ‘Nashville’ star stood out in a breezy, aqua-blue high-low dress, grounded with a pair of chocolate-brown platform sandals. She definitely wins the best hair award of the group, as it’s hard to argue with her effortless auburn waves.

Anna Kendrick: Seemingly neither ready for summer or for a festive party, the actress took a darker approach, which looked hot—literally. Black on top of black came with her skinny jeans, a leather vest, and a sheer, geometrically printed Joe’s blouse. She carried a chain-strap Coach Legacy flight bag . My feet hurt just a little seeing those heels at an event like this.
