Michelle Obama delivered a motivational speech and answered student’s questions in Christ Church dining hall at the University of Oxford earlier today.

She opted for a chic black and white Alexander McQueen Resort 2011 look, which is her second piece from this collection.

Her crisp white Alexander McQueen Victorian bustle piquet shirt was paired with an Alexander McQueen ivory double buckle western belt and fitted black pants.

I would’ve preferred the look with a black belt.

Michelle Obama and Samantha Cameron reunited today in London to serve food to members of the military during a barbecue in the garden of 10 Downing Street.

Michelle opted to wear a Tracy Reese Pre-Fall 2011 dress which I don’t think was quite the right choice for a barbecue on a sunny day.

The crystal-embellished black chiffon dress has a white print detail on the bodice, cuffs and skirt.

Despite the lightweight fabric, the look still feels so heavy when you compare Michelle to Samantha.

Samantha’s Jonathan Saunders Spring 2011 short sleeve dress with a green waistband was much more summery and appropriate for the event.

Love that both women supported designers from their respective countries.

After a day of amazing looks by various designers, Michelle Obama wore Tom Ford tonight for the state banquet at Buckingham Palace.

The stunning layered ivory gown with criss crossed bodice is breath-taking.

Admittedly it’s a tad bridal for my personal tastes, but gorgeous nonetheless.

Mrs O wore hair up in a chic updo and accessorized with Cathy Waterman earrings, a silver clutch and evening gloves.

The two factors which slightly put me off this look are the gloves and the fact that she’s wearing the same colour dress as the Queen.

It’s almost like wearing white to a friend’s wedding.

The dapper President complemented his wife’s gown by wearing a white bow tie for the evening.

Can you imagine Tom Ford’s ego after this? ;)

Michelle Obama and Samantha Cameron met again today on the steps of 10 Downing Street in London, on Day 1 of the Obama’s state visit.

The two fashion savvy ladies both wore British based designers.

Mrs O opted to wear Roksanda Ilincic who she’s worn before.

On this occasion she wore a purple drape neck Roksanda Ilincic Pre-Fall 2011 dress with a Narciso Rodriguez blue coat. The look was accessorized with a black belt and black kitten heels.

Purple appears to be Mrs O’s signature colour.

She’s radiant in purple.

Samantha Cameron opted to wear Peter Pilotto.

The design duo are having a great day because Rose Byrne also wore a look from their Spring 2011 collection last night.

Samantha’s Peter Pilotto dress is the same shorten version Carey Mulligan wore to the Los Angeles Times “Young Hollywood” Roundtable last year.

Grey pumps (thank god they’re not black) completed her look.

Would you believe that the Michelle Obama is the first person to wear a look from the Preen Fall 2011 collection.

I absolutely loved this collection and I haven’t been happy about the lack of celebrity love, so this look has totally made my day.

The First Lady wore a Preen violet cropped jacket with a matching high-waist pencil skirt and with the runway printed blouse as she disembarked Air Force One with US President Barack Obama at Stansted Airport yesterday evening.

The original look was presented as a crop top and not a jacket, but I love Mrs O interpretation.

Teal suede pumps and orange Cathy Waterman earrings completed this BDOTW worthy look.

I love that she wore a British designer whilst touching down on British soil.

First Lady Michelle Obama and US President Barack Obama were greeted by the Queen as they arrive at Buckingham Palace today in London.

The Obama’s are in town for a two day State Visit thanks to a special invitation from the Queen.

During the trip they will attend a state banquet at Buckingham Palace and the President will address both houses of parliament at Westminster Hall.

Michelle opted for a cropped jacket instead of a cardigan today with her Barbara Tfank Resort 2011 dress.

I love the floral print dress, but I really don’t like the cropped jacket.

The pop of colour is very much her style, it’s the way it flares out at the back which I object to.

Newlyweds Prince William and Catherine Middleton were both at the Palace to greet the Obama’s.

Catherine is following the Queen’s lead by carrying a bag whilst being at home.

Being married to a Prince hasn’t changed her style, as she’s still championing the high street by wearing a Reiss Shola bandage dress.
