Michelle Obama In Michael Kors – Election Night

U.S. President Barack Obama walked on stage with First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia to deliver his goosebump-inducing victory speech on a historic election night at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, yesterday evening, or should I say early this morning.

Michelle Obama wore a gorgeous Michael Kors dress, a dress which she had worn twice before, which I thought was a very smart move.

Her beautiful magenta pintucked dress was styled with a black cardigan, black patent kitten heels and a pink brooch.

Malia and Sasha (in a Chris Benz skirt) looked very cute and age appropriate. I love how Malia’s skirt matched her dad’s tie.

Here’s to four more years of fabulous fashion choices from Mrs O.

Michelle Obama In Prabal Gurung – Live with Kelly and Michael

Michelle Obama made a guest appearance on Live with Kelly and Michael which aired today in the US.

The First Lady was there to talk about the presidential debate, saying that watching her husband was like “Olympics parents watching their kid on that balance beam — you know, lots of clenching.”

She looked radiant wearing a Prabal Gurung Resort 2013 dress.

The orchid print cap-sleeve dress doesn’t appear in the look book, but the print should be instantly recognisable to you as Emma Watson wore a look from the same collection this week.

I love those apricot pumps. During a week of more black pumps than I care to count, the First Lady delights with her perfectly colour coordinated footwear choice.

Best Dressed of the Week with Kate Hudson, plus two more looks from the Resort 2013 collection with one look being worn by the First Lady; I would say Mr Gurung is having an amazing week.

Michelle Obama In J.Mendel – 2012 Pre-Olympics Reception

Michelle Obama also attended the pre-Olympics reception on Friday for Heads of State and Government, which was host by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace prior to the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

For the royal occasion Michelle wore a J. Mendel Resort 2013 ensemble.

The look consisted of a white tailored jacket with overlapped side panels and silver embroidery, which she paired with an ivory pleated skirt.

Michelle will always command my attention over Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

FLOTUS isn’t afraid of colour, prints and in this case, she expertly contrasts an architectural top with a soft flowing skirt with great aplomb.

This looks is much more interesting, fashion-forward and stylish than yet another coat dress from the Duchess.

Metallic Manolo’s and stunning earrings completed her look.

Michelle Obama In Preen – 2012 Warrior Games Opening Ceremony

Michelle Obama attended the opening ceremony of the 2012 Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Monday.

The First Lady wore a Preen Spring 2012 dress.

Her colour-block chequered dress wasn’t a runway look, but you see several looks from the runway with the same print.

This isn’t the first time Michelle has worn Preen. It seems she’s attracted to their colour pieces and their bold-and-beautiful aesthetic.

She may be wearing kitten heels, which I have been fond of, but I love that they are in a light-blue colour which complements her sleeveless dress as do her pink stone earrings.

Perfection as always.

Michelle Obama In Naeem Khan – 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Michelle Obama was seated next to Jimmy Kimmel who served as the host of the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, held at the Washington Hotel on Saturday evening.

Unfortunately we only get a glimpse of the top half of Michelle’s Naeem Khan Fall 2011 ballgown, but it’s still enough to make me swoon.

The belle of the ball looked sensational, radiant, stunning….I could go on and on.

Naeem Khan is becoming the First Lady’s go-to designer. She has a love for all things colourful, so no surprises that she selected this strapless paisley organza ballgown.

Carla Amorim ‘Aurora’ rose gold with cronaline and orange sapphires earrings, luscious locks and a nude lip colour completed her look.

Michelle Obama In Wes Gordon – 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in LA on Saturday afternoon to present singer Taylor Swift with the ‘Big Help’ award.

The First Lady wore a Wes Gordon Spring 2012 tunic with silver metallic Helmut Lang jeans.

Her Wes Gordon ¾ length-sleeved tunic with a silver embellished houndstooth print is slightly modified from the version presented on the model; the plunge isn’t so deep and Mrs O has opted to turn down the collar.

Simple black pumps completed her look.

I think she found the right balance of looking event appropriate, age appropriate and stylish.

Michelle Obama In Preen – Late Show With David Letterman

On Monday evening Michelle Obama made her first guest appearance on ‘Late Show with David Letterman.’

She looked lovely, as always, wearing a green, navy blue and green Preen Pre-Fall 2012 dress.

Her colour-block dress with a peplum and belted waist was accented with a sparkling Alexis Bittar Sapphire pin which followed the asymmetrical line on her dress.

On show, The First Lady explained how she creates a sense of values for her daughters while living in the White House, and her work on behalf of veterans.

Here are some extracts from her interview:

On late night conversations with President Obama: “He is always upbeat, particularly about Congress.”

On an undercover shopping trip to Target: “I thought I was undercover . . . no one knew that was me. Because a woman actually walked up to me. I was in the detergent aisle. She said, I kid you not, she said, ‘Excuse me, I just have to ask you something . . . can you reach on that shelf and hand me the detergent?’ I kid you not. And the only thing she said, ‘Well you didn’t have to make it look so easy.’ That was my interaction. She had no idea who I was.”Read More…
