Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Michelle Monaghan follows the bold shoulder trend with her dove grey suede jacket, which along with her statement necklace, is the main focus of her look.

Black skinny jeans, a sheer ivory blouse and black cut-out booties, complete the look.

I’m loving her wavy ‘do.

Wearing a black blouse and jeans, Emma Roberts added a dash of colour with her ivory Topshop lace beaded jacket, and matching ivory Topshop platform pumps.

She completed the look with 3 gold necklaces, including a cute nameplate necklace.

Adding a huge dose of high fashion to this event, designer Georgina Chapman arrived wearing a pink strapless Marchessa Spring 2009 dress, under a glittering black sequined jacket from her Fall 2008 collection.

A gorgeous smile, and cute satin pumps complete the look.

Every time I see Taylor Momsen she makes me chuckle. Her look is always so forced, as she continues to morph into her Gossip Girl character.

Her look included a cropped biker jacket, fishnet tights, a bubblegum pink pleated skirt -which matches her lipstick- and a statement cuff.

Model Arlenis Sosa has been one of the many faces for Topshop, when she starred in a campaign for them recently.

The gorgeous fresh faced model wore a graphic print mini dress, with her favourite black tuxedo jacket.

Emily Mortimer wears a hot pink blazer over her racy lace mini dress.

Michelle Trachtenberg’s sequined dress, is worn with a leather jacket, ankle booties and a Chanel purse.

I love this awards show, as we get so see more a more eclectic and colourful red carpet.

This year the stars didn’t disappoint. Jessica Alba looked so lovely in a stylish lilac Christian Dior Spring 2009 dress, with tan Christian Louboutin Mary Janes.

Her make-up is light, and compliments her dress.

This look is so feminine, I adore her here.

I really like this navy and red striped Michael Kors dress Cameron Diaz is wearing, but – not for the first time – I really don’t think this suits her.

I think it’s way too conservative for her, as she is usually more playful on the red carpet.

Is this the case of a new boyfriend cramping her style? We have seen this before.

And will she please, oh please get those roots done asap.

Lucy Liu opted for a fuschia pink Lanvin Spring 2009 satin dress.

She wore her dress with a clear belt, as not to block the draping effect on her dress.

The look was complete beige Jimmy Choo heels, and a Roger Vivier clutch that matched her dress.

♥

Claire Danes wore a two tone Lanvin Spring 2009 strapless bustier dress, with a gathered skirt.

She decorated her dress with a nude necklace, which was also from the Lanvin Spring 2009 collection.

This is such a sophisticated look for Claire, although I am not sure about the black heels.

Post-pregnancy Michelle Monaghan, continues to rock my world.

She was one of my favourites at this event wearing a Versace Spring 2009 baby blue mini dress, with a bell-shaped skirt, and jeweled strappy sandals.

I expected to see more of this collection on the red carpet other than 3 pieces – January Jones, Gwyneth Paltrow & Michelle – we have seen.

Kerry Washington looks absolutely outstanding in this electric blue Marchesa dress, with an embellished neckline. Although like Claire, I’m not so sure about her shoe choice.

This is a nice Rodarte Spring 2006 dress, but Anne Hathaway is a young girl, who should be experimenting a lot more.

The whole look is too blah. I’m not excited about it at all.

With her last two looks failing to impress, I’m very scared for what she might bring to the Oscars red carpet.

Taraji P. Henson on the other hand continues to impress.

Her Burberry LBD is decorated with embroidered details on the skirt to give it a tiering effect, and this same detail appears on the top of the dress.

She completes her look with black gladiator Pedro Garcia sandals, and a Burberry Prorsum Fall 2008 necklace.

I’m very excited to see what she wears at the Oscars.

Zooey Deschanel adds a black velvet bow to her Lela Rose Spring 2009 shimmering blue dress, which match her eyes.

Her cute clutch was from Moschino, and her heels are Ferragamo.

Michelle Williams wore a simple simple navy, grey and white striped sheath Chloé Resort 2009 dress, with black pumps.

Padma Lakshmi is so incredibly beautiful.

Last night she wore a Giorgio Sant Angelo jersey dress from Decades Inc, which had a white tile pailette detail cascading down the bodice.

I know many of you are not Teri Hatcher fans, but I think she has been having a lot more good days than bad recently.

Her LBD from Monique Lhuillier’s Fall 2009 collection with the sheer panels, is very sophisticated, yet sexy. Plus she doesn’t opt for a predictable black shoe, instead she wore a satin champagne Brian Atwood peep-toe heel.

Her pink clutch is Jimmy Choo and her jewels are by Piaget.

Mena Suvari added a multitude of colour to the red carpet, with this Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2009 maxi dress.

She wore her dress with a larger tan belt, which is thinner than the one which appeared on the runway.

She wore Piaget jewels to complete her look.

This is not the best look for Elizabeth Banks. The skirt is fine, but the rest……

I should be thankful that this Azzedine Alaia chocolate brown dress Penelope Cruz wore is not black, but I am still mourning the loss of her fantastic style, to see this as a positive.

Yikes. The coat Rachel Weisz is wearing doesn’t cover up enough of her floral dress.

I love the fearless Sandra Oh on the red carpet. She opting for this fuschia pink tunic Jenni Kayne Resort 2009 dress with black pumps.

Sandra is already on trend for Fall 09, as we saw a lot of this colour at New York Fashion Week.

Look who is back, not surprisingly wearing black. Ellen Page.

Rose Byrne’s white Calvin Klein Spring 2009 dress, is a perfect fit for her.

She keeps the minimalist look going by opting for plain silver pumps and no jewelery.

The shoulder pads on Mary-Kate Olsen’s Balmain dress are too dominate for my liking. It makes her appear to have no neck.

Her beige heels are by Proenza Schouler.

On the plus-side, she looks very healthy.

Michelle Monaghan is head-to-toe flawless, wearing a silver asymmetrical Calvin Klein Spring 2009 dress, which she wears with silver square toe pumps.

The most interesting feature of this dress, was the large boxy fold detail going across the skirt.

She is on fire at the moment.

New York Fashion Week wouldn’t be New York Fashion Week with out Joy Bryant in or around the tents.

The model/actress wore a silver strapless metallic Missoni Spring 2009 strapless jumpsuit to this event.

The jumpsuit had an embroidered band around the waist, which she wore without make-up, a large brown clutch and hooped earrings.

Consistently gorgeous as always.

Helena Christensen opted for eggplant pointy pumps, to work with the embroidered details on her off-the-shoulder Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2008 dress.

The details on her black satin dress are exquisite.

Mary Alice Stephenson wears exactly the same Thakoon Spring 2009 dress which Tilda Swinton wore to the opening ceremony of the Berlin Film Festival.

Of course the major differences are the colour and the length.

I absolutely adore this dress, and I hope to find it in Harrods, Selfridges or Harvey Nicks very soon.

Mary Alice looks fantastic in this dress, she really sold it to me.

Runway regular Chanel Iman wore a strapless teal taffeta top, with a short black skirt which has a touch of the teal taffetta on the hem.

She’s even more beautiful without make-up. Life’s just not fair.

Arlenis Sosa is in her 2nd season, so I don’t know if she still classifies as a newbie on the model scene, but she has learnt very quickly that the model’s off-duty designer of choice is Alexander Wang.

The model wore a strapless dress with a black silk bodice, and a aqua blue and cerulean blue contoured coiled skirt from Alexander Wang’s Spring 2009 collection.

The black blazer is also part of any model’s uniform, but I wish she hadn’t worn this outstanding dress.

I am not a fan of tights on the red carpet, but in this case Irina Pantaeva’s ivory tights really brings this look together.

Her ivory embroidered Vivienne Tam Fall 2008 dress, is quite simply a work of art.

She’s back. Not only from having a baby, but Michelle Monaghan is back on top form giving us edgy red carpet fashion, that Jennifer Connelly would be proud of.

With her hair pulled back Michelle wore a Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 ensemble which consisted of long sleeved orange dress, with patchwork and sequined detail along one side of the dress, and layers of tulle, to give her skirt some volume.

I know a lot of you hate head-to-toe runway looks, but she would have been hard pressed to find a shoe outside of the Vuitton Spring 2009 collection, that would have done this dress justice. A plain black sandal, just wouldn’t do.

This look won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I love it.

OMG, I can’t take this any more.

Taylor Momsen needs to decide who she wants to be.

She is wearing heavy rock chick make-up and a choppy banged ‘do, with a ethereal Marchesa Fall 2008 gown.

She needs to decide on which direct she want to go, because this is all very confusing for me.

Eliza Dushku wore an electrifying nude and silver asymmetrical Kaufman Franco Fall 2008 gown.

Her look is flawless.

Mary J Blige kept her look simple wearing a black Donna Karan gown, which had an asymmetrical neckline.

The credit crunch looks to be affecting everyone, as Julia Restoin-Roitfeld wears the same mini black embellished Balmain Spring 2009 dress, she wore earlier this week to a Vogue Pre-BAFTA party.

Or unlike me, she likes to travel very light.

What a knock out.

Freida Pinto looks nothing short of breath-taking, wearing this metallic one-shouldered Zac Posen Spring 2009 mini dress, to the Directors Guild of America Awards over the weekend.

She wore her dress with matching peep-toes, and her hair and make-up were totally flawless.

The former aspiring model has only had one bad day on the red carpet, which she’s more than made up for ever since.

Amy Adams arrived wearing a shimmering Jasmine Di Milo Spring 2007 dress, with silver and nude sequin details.

What I love is how the dress is cut low at the back, as Amy tries to shake her “safe on the red carpet” image.

Amy never lets me down, safe or not, so this is another fantastic look for me.

Silver Christian Louboutin Fortuna slingbacks complete the look.

Marisa Tomei has an amazing figure, and this white strapless Dior gown shows it off by giving her a very sexy silhouette.

She completes her look with a stunning silver necklace with heart-shape details, and a purple clutch.

Taraji P. Henson strapless Kaufman Franco dress really gives her a lift.

For some reason the necklace really bothers me. The bodice has such an interesting detail on it, but the necklace distracts me.

Taraji gets better and better this awards season.

Michelle Monaghan had a baby girl 3 months ago, and is already back on the red carpet looking stunning.

She shows us her post-baby figure for the first time, wearing a white strapless Giambattista Valli Spring 2009 dress, covered in black paillettes.

Rachel Griffiths is glowing in a champagne coloured Lanvin Fall 2008 dress.

Her jewels are by Neil Lane, and her silver clutch is by Alexandra Knight.

This is a nice enough Temperley London dress for Claire Danes, with the embellished shoulders, but something is missing.

A matching embellished belt perhaps?

Now this is one Herve Leger dress you guys just have to love.

Viola Davis’ dress has a chiffon skirt, to give it such chic elegant touch.

I am glad she opted for a gold clutch, which really grabs your attention.

I love Virginia Madsen. She is always so bold on the red carpet. Never hiding behind black, never covering up.

She has it, and she’s flaunting it.

You go girl.

I am loving the sparkling details on Lisa Edelstein LBD, which is very sexy.

Terri Seymour, the ex-girlfriend of Simon Cowell, used to always be well groomed on the red carpet.

The black turtleneck dress looks fab on her, because lets face it she has the body to carry it, but the crimped hair is such a big no-no.

I don’t think crimped hair has been cool since the 80s.
