Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada ‘The Great Gatsby’ Dresses Opening Exhibit

Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada ‘The Great Gatsby’ Dresses Opening Exhibit

There were many more celebs who joined Carey Mulligan and Katy Perry for the special exhibition of selected costumes designed by Miuccia Prada and costume designer Catherine Martin for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film adaptation of ‘The Great Gatsby’ in New York City yesterday evening.

Alexa Chung: Fresh off the plane from her Vogue Festival London trip, the jet-setting TV presenter wore a black Miu Miu crewneck tunic featuring some gold detailing. Black loafers and a black clutch accessorized her outfit, with barely there makeup completing her effortless look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The indie actress stands out here wearing a bright-white Prada dress with ruffled details on the bodice and cuffs. Maggie’s choices are often hit or miss. This for me is a hit, although I’m not a huge fan of the platform sandals.

Florence Welch: Is it me, or does Florence’s Prada look have a touch of Saint Laurent about it? Maybe it’s the suit-and-hat combo which has now become synonymous with the brand. As always this is a stellar chic look from the British singer.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Kate Young for Target - Kate Young For Target Launch Event

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the Kate Young for Target Launch Event last night in New York City.

The actress represented the collection in the Kate Young for Target One-Shoulder Black Star Print Dress, $89.99, accented with a Two Row Diamond Bracelet by Jacob & Co.

There are many ways of styling this dress that could have been disastrous, but Maggie looks stunning. Her gamine haircut shows off her beautiful skin, and her coral lipstick is the shade of the season.

Without trying to accessorize too much, Maggie lets this lovely dress, her perfect posture and lovely skin get all the attention. Bravo.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Isabel Marant – 2013 Sundance Institute Theatre Program Benefit

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Isabel Marant - 2013 Sundance Institute Theatre Program Benefit

Not seen on the red carpet since September, Maggie Gyllenhaal returned yesterday evening for the 2013 Sundance Institute Theatre Program Benefit at Stephan Weiss Studio in New York City.

Showcasing a new cropped hairstyle, the actress wore an Isabel Marant ‘Samuel’ printed dress.

Isabel Marant’s knack for a uniquely Parisian spin on rich cultural inspiration is exemplified in this multi-coloured paisley-print dress.

Her flowy silk-gauze semi-sheer frock with a slit neckline and balloon sleeves was accented with a tasselled leather belt.

Gold studded midi-heels, a gold bracelet and a red pout completed her boho-inspired, laidback-yet-chic look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Lanvin – ‘Won’t Back Down’ New York Premiere

On Sunday, Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the New York premiere of her latest movie ‘Won’t Back Down’ at the Ziegfeld Theater.

The actress wore a Lanvin Resort 2013 dress.

Her colour-block salmon-and-black silk dress with a cascading ruffle may seem like an incredibly laidback look for a premiere, especially when paired with Lanvin sandals, but I have to say it works for Maggie.

Whilst her approach may seem laidback, she did make an effort to style the look with a chic updo, smoky eyes, pink glossy lips and an armful of gold bracelets.

It’s a thumbs up for me.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Dolce & Gabbana – The Today Show

Maggie Gyllenhaal made a guest appearance on the ‘Today’ show this morning in New York City, to promote her latest film, ‘Won’t Back Down,’ where she plays a mother who aims to help a failing public school.

With the leaves on the trees behind her turning an autumn orange hue, the actress wore a Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2012 dress.

Her cream lace dress with a capelet overlay was simply styled with taupe patent pumps and a red lip colour.

Signature wavy locks provided the finishing touch.

You can buy Maggie’s Dolce & Gabbana dress from Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Luisa via Roma.
