The nominations for the Golden Globes were announced today and I am already excitedly thinking about what we will see on the red carpet next year.

In the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama category Cate Blanchett was nominated for ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’ and Best Supporting Actress for ‘I’m Not There’.

Only one designer comes to mind and that is Giorgio Armani. I would have predicted Armani Prive, but as Cate will be 6 months pregnant at the time awards, she may have something especially made.

Angelina Jolie was also nominated for Best Actress in a Drama for ‘A Mighty Heart’.

I would predict that she would wear St John, as she is still the face of the brand. I would hope that she tries something new on this occasion, as the grey St. John’s dress she wore to this years Golden Globes, although beautifully made, was not to my liking.

Keira Knightley was nominated in the Best Drama category for ‘Atonement’.

Chanel seems the obvious choice as she is the face for Coco Mademoiselle, or will she choose Rodarte? She seems to be favouring their designs recently.

In the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture category, Amy Adams was nominated for ‘Enchanted’.

Amy took a lot of inspiration from the films fairytale theme for her red carpet appearance in LA, but looked a lot sexier for the London premiere.

What will she choose on the day?

In the Best Actress in a Comedy category America Ferrera is nominated for Ugly Betty.

America always wears Monique Lhuillier for the big occasions. Will she wear Monique’s designs at the 2008 Golden Globes?

Helena Bonham Carter was nominated in the Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for ‘Sweeney Todd’.

I love Helena’s determination to break the mould, and try something out of the ordinary, but she usually takes it too far and ends up on most worst dressed lists.

Will the 2008 Golden Globes be any different?

For the answer to all these questions and to see what all the stars are wearing check back on 13 January for my red carpet round up.

Keira Knightley attended the LA premiere of Atonement last night wearing this peachy tulle Rodarte Spring 2008 cut out dress.

I do love the dress, but I wish Keira had chosen better shoes. The shoes are quite hard in contrast to the soft feminine dress, but then maybe she was deliberately going for that look.

I am also loving the bangs. If everyone was not on this trend at the moment I would be sporting some bangs.

“Enchanted” Premiere, LA

Carrie Underwood looks fabulous wearing a pink Elise Katz Couture tulle dress.

Amy Adams also wore a tulle gown by J. Mendel, but the style is very boring, and the dove grey just washes her out.

Helen Mirren wears a gorgeous pair of pink pointy shoes with her metallic ensemble.

This woman gets better with age.

This is commendable by America Ferrera, because despite only wearing a tunic and a pair of jeans she looks great. But when you factor how everyone else made an effort, it just makes her look like she could not be bothered.

Head to toe, Teri Hatcher looks fantastic. This is a rare moment people, take it in.

High School Musical 2 Gala, LA

Ashley Tisdale gets it right in this pavement grey tulle shift Meghan dress with a pavement grey underlay. Much improved from Sunday.

Vanessa Hudgens always gets casual chic right. I love her Mike & Chris leather hooded bomber jacket.

Variety Club Showbiz Awards, London

Keira Knightley in a navy Chanel dress which I just can’t get excited about.

The Grand Opening Of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Weekend, Las Vegas

Demi Moore is wearing a sexy bronze Dior by John Galliano dress and continues to defy her age.

What a lucky guy Ashton is.

“In The Valley of Elah” Premiere, LA

I love the black Dior Fall 2007 outfit and kitten heeled Louboutin’s, but I am not loving Charlize Theron’s Gothic make-up. She looks horribly pale, and that shade of red does not suit her.

“The Sauce”, New York

Mrs Fashion made a very good point this week, that Evan Rachel Wood has very much stolen Dita Von Teese’s style. I agreed in theory, but now I see the evidence.

White Gloves, pale face, ruby lips. Dita Dita DITA.

Cleo Cocktail Party, Australia

Miranda Kerr is looking gorgeous in leopard print, carrying the Prada ‘Muff’ clutch that I covet.

Toronto International Film Festival

“Silk” Premiere

Kiera Knightley wore this white Erdem Spring 2007 dress to the premiere, which made her appear more ghostly than she is.

“Married Life” Premiere

I love the block colours on Rachel McAdams Gucci Resort 2008 dress, although I am not a fan of the back.

“Reservation Road” Gala Screening

Jennifer Connelly should note that strappy velcro flats have no place on the red carpet.

Keira Knightley proves why she was the perfect choice for this campaign. She is so elegant beautiful in this advert.

I am glad she did not wreck it by having any lines, as her voice irritates me.

Kiera Knightley wore this Rodarte Fall 2007 gown to the “Atonement” Premiere in London today.

As you can see the dress is beautiful, but the girlfriend needs to put on so weight. Cate Blanchett would have rocked this dress.
