Get The Look: Kate Bosworth’s ‘Gala in the Garden’ Hair & Makeup

Hammer Museum's "Gala In The Garden" Honoring Joni Mitchell And Mark BradfordCelebrity makeup artist Lisa Storey and celebrity hairstylist Bridget Brager worked with Kate Bosworth for the Hammer Museum’s ‘Gala in the Garden’ on Saturday (11 October).

MAKEUP ARTIST LISA STOREY
Lisa shares her beauty inspiration: “We decided on a look that transitioned from the end of summer to fall, and worked perfectly with Kate’s soft cream-white form-fitting Alexandre Vauthier Couture and diamonds.”

Here’s how to get the look.

On the outer edge of the eye, Lisa applied Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Plum, followed by the same stick in Orchid across the centre of the lid to the inner corners.

Next she used Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Seductive Rose – the darker shade in the outer lid and blending the lighter shades towards the middle lid and corner of the eye. Then she blended into the contour of the eye to create a soft fading gradient of colour. The eyebrows were gently filled using Dior Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde to give a softer, warm look. She applied a light lick of Dior Blackout Mascara to give a little depth.

She blushed Kate’s cheeks with Chanel Cream Blush in Chamade and lightly contoured the cheekbones with Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate Intensity 1.

Lisa finished the look with Tom Ford Indian Rose Lipstick and dusted the face with Tom Ford Illuminating Powder.

HAIRSTYLIST BRIDGET BRAGER
Bridget shares her hair inspiration: “We went for an understated hairstyle. The dress and jewels were such a statement and so beautiful that I wanted to keep on the cool side with a textured pony. She was going to a cocktail party, after all!”

Here’s how to get the look.

Bridget prepped Kate’s damp hair with O&M Atonic Thickening Spray. She dried her hair so as much natural texture as possible would come out – a lot of scrunching the hair up and then over, directing the hair from side to side.

After her hair was dry, Bridget used a 1.5 inch curling iron and picked out random sections of hair to curl horizontally. She curled up and then curled down the same section so no curl pattern was the same. She wanted lived-in hair.

Once all the hair was set, she sprayed Bumble and bumble City Swept onto the lengths of the hair and gave the hair a good shake. Then she secured the ponytail with a bungee just under the crown of the head. She wrapped a piece of hair around the bungee and secured it with a hairpin.

To finish, she used a light spray of L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray.

Kate Bosworth In Alexandre Vauthier Couture – The Hammer Museum’s 12th Annual ‘Gala In The Garden’

Kate Bosworth In Alexandre Vauthier Couture - Hammer Museum 12th Annual Gala In The Garden

Kate Bosworth attended the Hammer Museum’s 12th annual ‘Gala in the Garden’ on Saturday (October 11) in Westwood, California.

Appearing not to get the Bottega Veneta memo, the actress wore a slinky white one-sleeve frock from Alexandre Vauthier’s Fall 2014 Couture collection.

As you know, Alexandre Vauthier dresses are never shy of drama, and while this dress may seem run of the mill from the front, the rear reveals a typically sexier side with an open back, pearl and Swarovski embellishments and a slit running up to the upper thigh.

Even with the sexy back, the fluid lines exude sophisticated femininity, ensuring a high-octane after-dark look.

Towering Jimmy Choo ‘Issey’ heels, diamond dangling earrings, a matching tennis bracelet and a silver Bottega Veneta clutch provided the finishing touches.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Keira Knightley In Michael Van Der Ham, Kate Bosworth In BOSS & Eddie Redmayne In Burberry Prorsum

Keira Knightley in Michael Van Der Ham and Kate Bosworth in BOSS were your best dressed this week.

You were swept away by the dark romance of Keira’s look – which saw her make a brief and welcome change from the expected – as much as you were blown away by Kate Bosworth’s matchy red ensemble, which was my personal favourite this week.

When it came to the gents there was no such competition, as the clear favourite was Eddie Redmayne in Burberry Prorsum. Even the suaveness of usual favourite Douglas Booth couldn’t come close to Eddie’s well-styled brightly coloured suit, which for some would be a risk, but this is standard practice for Eddie.

BOSS Spring 2015 Front Row

BOSS Spring 2015 Front Row

Many young stars flocked to see Jason Wu’s first spring runway show as BOSS’s new creative director. Of those on the front row of the Spring 2015 BOSS show were Zoe Saldana and Kate Bosworth.

Zoe Saldana: The pregnant actress wore head-to-toe BOSS, and opted for an easy, elb0w-length black v-neck dress. She paired the look with black and white sandals and a large white handbag.

Kate Bosworth: Kate also went with head-to-toe BOSS, and the dreamy seafoam colored satin, sleeveless dress with sheer overlay skirt is a fun and feminine choice. I also love her coral lip color with the dress, and that she, too, opted for the same black and white sandals as Zoe.

Get The Look: Kate Bosworth’s ‘Still Alice’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere Hair & Makeup

Get The Look Kate Bosworth's 'Still Alice' Toronto Film Festival Premiere Hair & Makeup

Celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubroff and celebrity hairstylist Bridget Brager worked with Kate Bosworth for the premiere of ‘Still Alice’ during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on Monday.

Here is how to get her stunning look.

MAKEUP

“The lady in RED. A red dress always leaves me wondering – do I go with a red lip or a nude lip? I decided to go for the RED,” said Pati on the beauty inspiration.

“The face is all about structure and contour. I spent time making sure every bone was sculpted, contoured, and highlighted. The same with the eye – no colour, just shades of skin. The cheek got a slight flush of a peachy bronze.”

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Pop Life, a soft red, was applied to Kate’s lips before a deeper red lipstick was added, with a lip brush, to contour the edges. Pati then used red lip gloss, straying from the outdated matte look, to brighten up the lips and mimic the shiny palettes of her dress.

HAIR

Bridget said, “My inspiration for Kate’s hair was a 90’s feel – sleek and modern.”

She started by applying a golf ball sized amount of Bumble and Bumble Thickening Mousse, starting at her roots and brushing it down to her ends. She then blew the hair out using a large round brush.

After her hair was dry, Bridget created a middle part and flat ironed her hair mid shift to ends using a T3 Flat Iron. Once hair was smooth, she took a small section on each side, just In front of the ear, and twisted the section tightly back. She then used a dab of paste to add shine and hold, and secured the two sections with a small clear plastic elastic.

Once the look was set, she used a bit of Moroccan Oil on the ends of her hair for shine and a quick spray of Oribe Superfine Hairspray.
