Hilary Swank In Gucci - amfAR Inspiration Gala

Hilary Swank attended the amfAR Inspiration Gala during the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday in Toronto, Canada.

The actress went from summery at the Michael Kors event last week to a more Fall-like offering, turning to Gucci for this olive-green frock with a sexy black-lace long-sleeved keyhole overlay from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

Gucci patent-leather T-strap pumps accented with a knotted bow detail and a black Gucci ‘Broadway’ clutch with a plexiglass and Swarovski jewel detail completed her look.

2013 Couture Council Fashion Visionary Awards

The 2013 Couture Council Artistry of Fashion Award luncheon, hosted by The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology and honoring Michael Kors, brought out a stylish bunch of Michael Kors-clad event-goers to the David H. Koch Theater at New York City’s Lincoln Center on Wednesday.

Hilary Swank: The actress stood out in a flashy, aqua leopard-print fit-and-flare dress and black python sandals, both from the Michael Kors Resort 2014 collection. A black elongated, reptilian-like clutch from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection completed the animal instinct.

Michael Kors: Surrounded by some of his leading fashion ladies, the designer was casual-cool in a basic, all-black look, with a blazer, T-shirt and trousers. His signature shades were present and accounted for, naturally.

Anna Wintour: The ‘Vogue’ editrix kept up chic appearances and paid homage to the guest of honor in a custom Michael Kors micro-print frock, styled with sunnies and her favourite Manolo Blahnik sandals.

Hilary Swank in Giambattista Valli Couture - Life Ball 2013

Hilary Swank navigated the 2013 Life Ball’s signature magenta carpet this past weekend at City Hall in Vienna, Austria.

For the exuberant occasion, which raises funds for HIV and AIDS causes, the actress put on her party best in top-to-toe Giambattista Valli.

Her Spring 2013 Couture silvery-grey cocktail dress was veiled in black zebra-stripe tulle overlay, giving it a slightly wild nature. The short frock was fun enough, although I believe it got a boost from the glittery pomp and pageantry that was carrying on in the background.

Longtime Giambattista Valli collaborator, jeweler Luigi Scialanga is the master responsible for gilding this look with a cinching, twisting belt of bronze feathers.

Lattice work ankle-strap heels were one step better than plain black pumps. But a more inspired metallic shoe would have provided a final flourish of gold leaf opulence.

Natural waves and neutral makeup completed the moment. Was anyone else craving a bolder lip or a strong eye for Hilary? It would have fit right in at this over-the-top occasion.

2013VanityFair_HilarySwank

Hilary Swank had everyone seeing red, as she kept the Valentino trend going at the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscars Party at Hollywood’s Sunset Tower on Sunday night.

Wearing a crimson gown from the design house’s Spring 2013 Couture runway, the actress couldn’t be missed at Graydon Carter’s soiree.

With this sheer, long-sleeve entrance, I found myself wondering three things: Is there such thing as too much red? Is it possible to be seductively sexy and vaguely matronly at once? And how many times will her daringly long train be stepped on throughout the evening?

Hilary’s exaggerated, side-swept retro wave was right on trend, but a simple updo might have fared better with this extravagant gown.

With the criss-cross bodice and the see-through quality, I was actually reminded of Rihanna’s 2013 Grammy Awards dress.

Did you think this look was on fire, or did it need to be extinguished?

A Swarovski clutch completed her look.

Kors Front Row

This Fall 2013 fashion week had a very low celeb count, but at Michael Kors his front row was jam-packed with celebs.

Hilary Swank: The Oscar-winning actress wore a striped look from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection. Her summery tri-colour dress was styled with a Michael Kors ‘Gia’ clutch and midnight-blue pumps, both from the Spring 2013 collection.

Zoe Saldana: Adding to the colourful vibe in the front row, Zoe wore a head-to-toe Pre-Fall 2013 look, which consisted of a pink long-sleeved top and skirt, a matching ‘Monroe’ clutch and black open-toe ‘Emma’ booties.

Karolina Kurkova: The model wore a sexy Spring 2013 striped ensemble with a wool coat over her shoulders. All white accessories added a punch to her look – yes, even the pumps.

Hilary Swank In Elie Saab Couture - Vienna Opera Ball

Sadly, this is the best picture I could find of Hilary Swank attending the Vienna Opera Ball, held at the Wiener Staatsoper in Austria yesterday evening.

The few pictures of her on the red carpet had burly bodyguards surrounding her, not allowing anyone to take her picture, which surely defeats the purpose of her being invited – but I digress.

What should’ve been a beautiful picture of her on the red carpet is a paparazzi picture of her leaving the Hotel Bristol.

My greatest disappointment is the harsh flash photography, which blurs the exquisite detailing on her nude Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture gown.

Elie Saab and Hilary Swank has always been a winning combination and this outing, flash photography aside, is no different.

Simple and elegant is always the best way to go in a stunning embellished gown, and that’s the route Hilary took, with neutral makeup and simple stud earrings completing her look.
