Who Wore Andrew Gn Better…Hailee Steinfeld or Ana de Armas?

Who Wore Andrew Gn Better Hailee Steinfeld or Ana de Armas

Hailee Steinfeld attended the 2014 Golden Globes after party hosted by InStyle and Warner Bros, wearing a very grown up and sophisticated look by Andrew Gn.

The Spring 2014 black gown with a sheer skirt and gold dove embroidery was styled with a chic bouffant and flawless makeup.

Two months later Ana de Armas wore the same dress in white to the ‘Dioses y Perros’ Malaga Film Festival premiere.

The gown is worthy of such grand occasions and the ladies styled the look impeccably, however, if offered the white or the black, I would take the black, so Hailee wins for me.

Hailee Steinfeld In Prabal Gurung – 2014 Met Gala

Hailee Steinfeld In Prabal Gurung - 2014 Met Gala

Hailee Steinfeld was positively beaming at the 2014 Met Gala, themed ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion’ at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City today (May 5).

Of course, the young starlet and burgeoning trendsetter had every reason to smile at one of New York fashion’s biggest nights.

Outfitted in Prabal Gurung, she followed the glamorous dress code of the evening in a masterfully sculpted creation—a riff on the high-low trend, complete with a sweeping train—also wearing black and white like co-chair Sarah Jessica Parker.

Smartly extravagant in its shapely, molded ball-gown shape, the design also received a dose of modern edge via the monochromatic, colour-blocked palette and racer-back silhouette.

A low, centre-parted bun and sparkling Van Cleef & Arpels floral earrings brought the classic elegance right back into play, though.

Hailee Steinfeld In Erdem – The Breast Cancer Research Foundation 2014 Hot Pink Party

Hailee Steinfeld In Erdem - The Breast Cancer Research Foundation 2014 Hot Pink Party

Hailee Steinfeld attended The Breast Cancer Foundation’s 2014 Hot Pink Party at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Monday (April 28) in New York City alongside Liz Hurley and Sara Bareilles.

Opting not to go the pretty pink dress route, the young starlet flouted the rules, wearing an Erdem Fall 2014 black velvet dress with a draped back and asymmetrical-detailed ivory high neck construction.

I’m sure she just met the criteria of the pink dress code by adding a hot-pink Valentino satin clutch and matching pink lip; but dress code aside, this look feels too fall-like, not only for the event but also for the season.

Misgivings on the season appropriateness aside, I do feel like she pulled off this tricky look, but I would remove the pink clutch, which feels so out of place.

Black Bionda Castana scalloped-edge heels and a neat ponytail completed her look.

Hailee Steinfeld In Valentino – ‘Begin Again’ Tribeca Film Festival Closing Night Gala Premiere

Hailee Steinfeld In Valentino - ‘Begin Again’ Tribeca Film Festival Closing Night Gala Premiere

Hailee Steinfeld attended the ‘Begin Again’ closing night premiere during the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival held at BMCC Tribeca PAC on Saturday (April 26) in New York City alongside Keira Knightley.

The young actress showcased some 60s style by wearing an A-line Valentino Fall 2014 leather patchwork dress inspired by Italian pop art.

This fun piece with plenty of personality and pizzazz was styled with a black bandeau (to counter the deep plunge), and simple accessories including a black clutch and ankle strap pumps.

Kohl-rimmed eyes and sleek straight tresses completed her look.

I am delighted she kept the styling simple, as the dress needed to be the main attraction.

Hailee Steinfeld In Miu Miu – Miu Miu Women’s Tales 7th Edition -’Spark & Light’ Screening

Hailee Steinfeld In Miu Miu - Miu Miu Women’s Tales 7th Edition -’Spark & Light’ Screening

Hailee Steinfeld attended the Miu Miu Women’s Tales 7th Edition screening of ‘Spark & Light’ held at Diamond Horseshoe on Tuesday (February 11) in New York City.

The actress worked a 60s-inspired look from Miu Miu’s Spring 2014 collection.

Like Lea Seydoux, Hailee’s look had two red carpet moments.

Her pink printed coat, which could also pass off as a dress, was styled with light-pink knee-high lace-up boots and a pink shoulder bag.
Upon removing her coat, look 2 – a pretty pink blouse and colour-block skirt combo – was revealed.

While the boots might not work for everyone, I love everything about this charming, typically feminine, nod to the sixties.
