Best Dressed Of The Week - Angelina Jolie In Saint Laurent & Florence Welch In Gucci

Angelina Jolie in Saint Laurent was your best dressed this week.

While some might say this was a sympathy vote, I would strongly disagree, saying that while this is yet another black dress from Ange, it was a sexy, statement-making look and one of her finest all-black looks to date.

I opted for Florence Welch in Gucci. Yes, the look might feel a tad familiar; however, I was captivated by the colour, her stage presence and the billowing effect of the cape, plus she was by far the best dressed at the ‘Chime For Change: The Sound Of Change Live’ Concert.

Check back later this evening for live coverage of the CFDA Fashion Awards 2013.

Performers at The 'Chime For Change The Sound Of Change Live' Concert

The ‘Chime For Change: The Sound Of Change Live’ Concert at Twickenham Stadium in London is still going strong this evening with several acts already taking to the stage.

Florence Welch: The British singer was dressed in a custom Gucci teal column gown that was styled with a billowing jewel accented cape, which has become her signature.

John Legend: The singer, who like many of the stars at this event, is a Gucci devotee, wore an orange micro-dot Gucci double breasted navy suit from the brands Spring 2013 collection. Both Mr Hudson and Dwyane Wade have been spotted wearing this same suit.

Florence Welch In Miu Miu - ‘The Great Gatsby’ Premiere & Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Florence Welch continued her love affair with Miu Miu when she took to the red carpet for this evening’s ‘The Great Gatsby’ Cannes Film Festival premiere, which also served as the Opening Ceremony.

You may remember she looked amazing in Miu Miu for the New York premiere; in Cannes, not so much.

This look is just too garish for me, from the pepto-bismal pink colour and the polka dots of the dress to the hideous Miu Miu yellow-and-black platforms.

The kooky factor has to be admired, but I wish she selected one of her other favoured brands like Givenchy or Naeem Khan.

I will have nightmares that those shoes graced the Grand Théâtre Lumière tonight.

Florence Welch wowed on the 2013 Met Gala red carpet at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The singer put a vampy-bohemian spin on her ode to punk with a full-on fringe gown from the Givenchy Fall 2012 Couture collection.

Since Riccardo Tisci is a co-chair of tonight’s gala, it’s only natural that Florence wore the designer—and that she looked quite remarkable in his dress.

She’s statuesque enough to pull off this dramatic, long-sleeve creation and its floor-sweeping tassels without being overwhelmed.

But, truth be told, it was really Florence’s fiery-red locks that sold me on this all-black, rock-glam look.

On anyone else (or with any other hair colour), it would not have translated as powerfully.

Florence Welch In Miu Miu - ‘The Great Gatsby’ New York Premiere

Florence Welch joined Carey Mulligan on the red carpet on Wednesday night for ‘The Great Gatsby’ world premiere held at Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

After wearing Prada on Tuesday evening, she selected Miu Miu on this occasion.

Her navy silk-crepe long-sleeved Fall 2013 gown not only features sparkling paillette embroidery on the capelet and neck-tie, but also features a sexy open back and central slit.

Keeping the blue Miu Miu train rolling, the singer styled her look with a royal-blue Miu Miu leather gold-framed bag and navy-and-silver trim and Sorellina rings.

The colour is perfect for her porcelain complexion and, like Carey, Florence also opted for a barely there makeup look.

When it comes to eveningwear Miuccia has more misses than hits. This is a certified rare hit.

Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada ‘The Great Gatsby’ Dresses Opening Exhibit

There were many more celebs who joined Carey Mulligan and Katy Perry for the special exhibition of selected costumes designed by Miuccia Prada and costume designer Catherine Martin for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film adaptation of ‘The Great Gatsby’ in New York City yesterday evening.

Alexa Chung: Fresh off the plane from her Vogue Festival London trip, the jet-setting TV presenter wore a black Miu Miu crewneck tunic featuring some gold detailing. Black loafers and a black clutch accessorized her outfit, with barely there makeup completing her effortless look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The indie actress stands out here wearing a bright-white Prada dress with ruffled details on the bodice and cuffs. Maggie’s choices are often hit or miss. This for me is a hit, although I’m not a huge fan of the platform sandals.

Florence Welch: Is it me, or does Florence’s Prada look have a touch of Saint Laurent about it? Maybe it’s the suit-and-hat combo which has now become synonymous with the brand. As always this is a stellar chic look from the British singer.

Florence Welch In Christopher Kane - NME Awards 2013

Florence Welch attended the NME Awards 2013 at the Troxy in London on Wednesday evening.

The singer wore a Christopher Kane Pre-Fall 2013 dress for the ceremony; where she took home the ‘Best Solo Artist’ and ‘Best Dancefloor Anthem’ awards.

Her blue full-length tulle and velvet floral dress does an amazing job of elongating Florence’s 5ft 9in frame.

The colour is electric; the style is very unique and overall it’s a huge improvement on her look at the same event this time last year.

A simple updo and chain accented handbag completed her look.
