6th Annual AACTA International Awards

The 6th annual AACTA International Awards were hosted at Avalon Hollywood on January 6, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. The AACTAs recognise and honour outstanding achievement in the Australian film and television industry, so it is no surprise that a few Aussie beauties took to the red carpet for the event.

Nicole Kidman: The statuesque actress wore a Rochas Spring 2017 tea-length dress. I love how she breathed some life into the moodier dress, bringing out the pink waistband with her vibrant lip colour. The main issue I take with the look is in the bodice area, as it appears as if she has a ribbon of tulle wrapped around her waist in cummerbund form thus cutting off her chest.

Isla Fisher: Another auburn-haired Aussie beauty, Isla Fisher lit up the red carpet with an incredibly sunny Monique Lhuillier golden-yellow gown featuring Asian-influenced, lacy floral embroidery. I applaud her attempt to bring a ray of sunshine to the proceedings, however, I found the look to sadly be on the more dated side. Add to it the pair of rather unfortunate platform sandals that occasionally peeked through the too-long gown, and I wanted to shield my eyes from the glare.

Emma Stone: Managing to effectively toe the line between adorable and badass, the ‘La La Land’ actress wore a Gucci dress that took the idea of the LBD to another level. The silhouette of the tiered ruffle frock may have been sweet, but the cage shoulder detail and the embellished bow and collar had just the right amount of rebellious edge to ensure a dramatic and not-too-dainty finish.

Emma Stone In Giambattista Valli – ‘Irrational Man’ LA Premiere

Emma Stone In Giambattista Valli - 'Irrational Man' LA Premiere

Emma Stone attended the premiere of ‘Irrational Man’ on Thursday (July 9) in Los Angeles, California.

I love how the dainty floral embroidery infuses romantic charm into this lady-like Giambattista Valli dress.

I wasn’t immediately sold on the Paul Andrew floral ‘Kashi’ pumps, but I think the black floral waistband helps ties the pieces together.

A braided updo and Jennifer Meyer jewels rounded out her red carpet look.

Emma Stone In Emilio Pucci – ‘Aloha’ LA Premiere

Emma Stone In Emilio Pucci - 'Aloha' LA Premiere

Emma Stone joined Rachel McAdams at the ‘Aloha’ screening at The London West Hollywood in West Hollywood, California on Wednesday (May 27).

She wore a Emilio Pucci Fall 2015 grey tulle fringe dress with pearl embellishment that whispered a subtly spirited elegance while taking on a more refined spirit with the addition of a nude lining.

Enhancing the quiet flair of the frock, she elevated the look with the structured, cape-like lines of her white power jacket.

Grey-toned Christian Louboutin ‘Tucsick’ pumps complemented the muted tones, which was set ablaze by her wavy, flame-red bob.

Do you like Emma’s recent affinity for a more softly neutral colour palette, which we likewise saw at the Cannes Film Festival?

Emma Stone In Brook Collection & Ulyana Sergeenko Couture – ‘Aloha’ Photocall & Premiere

Emma Stone In Brook Collection & Ulyana Sergeenko Couture - 'Aloha' Photocall & Premiere

Emma Stone attended the ‘Aloha’ photocall and premiere at Soho Hotel in London, England on Saturday (May 16).

Photocall: Posing with Bradley Cooper at her side, the actress wore a Brook Collection Fall 2015 beige sweater top and pleated skirt with matching Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals that had nothing of the vibrant ‘aloha’ spirit in it. There is minimalism and then there is boring, and I’m stifling a yawn right now.

Premiere: Her second look was far more inspiring, as she donned a Ulyana Sergeenko Spring 2015 Couture floral-printed dress, shaped by a mock peplum. Some may fault the length, but I was more put off by the white colour of her Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle Follies’ pumps. Her coral-pink lip redeemed the feminine look.

Emma Stone In Christian Dior Couture - ‘Irrational Man’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Emma Stone attended the ‘Irrational Man’ premiere during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 15) in Cannes, France.

The actress was an enchanting vision of grace and elegance, wearing a Christian Dior Couture pale-blue lace open-back gown which made for a pretty feminine statement.

I love a movie star moment, and this is up there with the likes of Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron.

Emma Stone In Oscar de la Renta - 'Irrational Man' Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Emma Stone returned to the red carpet for the first time since the Oscars for the ‘Irrational Man’ photocall during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival this afternoon (May 15) in Cannes, France.

The actress wore an Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2015 lace frock with organza ruffles styled with patent leather degrade Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle Follies’ pumps.

My immediate reaction to this was – I didn’t like it. So I sat and thought about it for a while and after much reflection, I still don’t like it.

While there is nothing wrong with a cocktail dress at lunchtime during Cannes Film Festival, the look feels a bit too juvenile for me. Cute, yet too juvenile.

I was hoping for something really slick or something with an edge. This just took the wind out of my sails.

Emma Stone In Louis Vuitton – 2015 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

Nickelodeon's 28th Annual Kids' Choice Awards - Show

Emma Stone accepted the ‘Favourite Movie Actress’ award for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ onstage during 2015 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, held at The Forum on Saturday (March 28) in Inglewood, California, in bullish fashion.

The actress wore a Louis Vuitton Fall 2015 rock chick look I was expecting to see worn by Kate Moss, Chloe Sevigny or Jennifer Connelly.

I can’t say it’s my favourite look for Emma, as for me it feels a tad out of sync with her style, but the look is perfect for a fun night out at the Kids Choice Awards.
